“我不怕冷”不是I'm not afraid of cold，这些中式英语还在说？

下面有很多表达我们经常挂在嘴边，也总能听到，但其实却是错的！别不信！一起来看看！

1. 在我的印象中

( X ) in my impression

( √ ) under the impression

impression 是「印象、感觉」，但要描述「在我的印象中」，并不是用介词in，而是要用“under” ，或是说I get/have the impression that ⋯⋯

一般印象 general impression

例句：

I was under the impression that you fall in love with a French, right?

在我印象中，你跟一个法国人在一起，对吗？

2. 普普通通；还好

( X ) so-so

( √ ) all right/not too bad/OK

外国人很少用so-so 这个词，在对话中，要尽量避免讲出so-so，因为这个词是指「马马虎虎」，代表你对正在谈论的话题没有什么看法。

因此，想表达「还好」，就尽量使用all right/not too bad/OK。

例句：

A: Have you watched “The Avengers 4” already?

你看过《复仇者联盟4》了吗？

B: Yes! I just watched it with my boyfriend last night.

看过啦！我昨天晚上才跟我男友去看。

A: Oh, is it worth watching?

噢！推荐看吗？

B: The movie was OK.

普普通通。

3. 机率很大

( X ) chances are big

( √ ) chances are high

中文会讲机率很大或是机率很高，但在英文里只有chances are high 的说法。

A: Chances are high that you won the lottery.

我觉得你中乐透的机率蛮大的。

B: Sure…… when pigs fly.

当然⋯⋯想得挺美的。

4. 我不怕冷

( X ) I'm not afraid of cold.

( √ ) The cold doesn't bother me.

afraid of 后面只能接具体的名词，例如：I'm afraid of cockroach，而冷是一个抽象的概念，不能直接说I'm afraid of cold。

还记得电影《冰雪奇缘》主题曲里的歌词有唱到“The cold never bothered me anyway.” 就是这样的用法！

5. 药效退了

( X ) the drug effect disappear

( √ ) the drug effect wears off

我们把「药效退了/ 消除」翻译成英文，就会直觉翻成disappear。虽然disappear 并非语法错误的用法，但外国人一般不会这么讲。wear off 是指「逐渐消退、消逝」。

The effect of the painkiller began to wear off.

止痛药药效开始渐渐消退。

6. 价格适中的

( X ) the price is suitable

( √ ) the price is right/reasonable

suitable 是指「合适的、相配的」，最常见的用法是以否定的形式出现在告示或通知中，如：未满十八岁不宜观赏：Not suitable for minors under 18 years of age.

而要形容价格适中的话，我们会用right，或换个方式描述价钱合理：price is reasonable。

The food here is delicious and the price is reasonable.

这里的食物很美味，价格也很亲民。

7.下一张幻灯片

( X ) Go to the next ppt.

( O ) Go to the next slide.

虽然PowerPoint可以用ppt来简称，但一张一张的幻灯片，英文不会说ppt，而是会用「slide」这个词。因此，要表示翻「下一张幻灯片」的时候，英文不会说Go to the next ppt，而是会说：Go to the next slide。例如：

This leads to my next point. Let's go to the next slide.

这引导出我的下一个论点。我们接着看下一张投影片吧。
