Jess and the Bean Root 02 来自小学英语盒子 00:00 01:59 The giant looks very sad. He is talking to himself: “I want a friend. Won’t anyone come?” Suddenly Jess sneezes1 loudly. The giant wakes up. He falls off his broken2 chair. 巨人看起来很悲伤。他自言自语道:“我想要一个朋友。没有人来吗?突然，杰西大声打了个喷嚏。巨人醒了。他从破椅子上摔了下来。 “Please will you be my friend?” the giant asks, “I never talk to anyone down here. I just sleep all day because I feel so sad. My name is Hugo.” Jess feels sorry for the giant. “I’ll be your friend,” she says. “请你做我的朋友好吗?”巨人问，“我从来没有和这里的任何人说过话。”我整天都在睡觉，因为我觉得很难过。我叫雨果。杰西为巨人感到难过。“我会成为你的朋友，”她说。 It’s morning up in the flats. Everyone is surprised3 to see the bean root. “Look!” a man says. “There is an old castle down in that hole4.” Jess climbs out of the hole. “A giant lives there,” says Jess. “His name is Hugo.
