This is the 5th session of Meet the Female Directors serie screenings. “遇见女导演”，是漫不经心影像与艺术与UCCA共同呈现的系列影像交流活动，将于每月邀请一位女导演分享她们的影像作品，并与其他嘉宾展开研讨。我们希望透过影像的媒介反观女性视角下的现实世界，同时制造一个主流价值观之外的影像欣赏空间，透过女性视角再次看见这个世界。 Meet the Female Directors is a serie of screenings founded by Inadvertent Video and Art, cohosted with UCCA. We will present works of one female director every month and hold a discussion panel with other guest speakers. We tend to use film as media of reflecting the reality through women's eyes. At the meantime, create a space of film appreciation beyond the mainstream value system. 本期我们邀请到德格娜导演的两部作品《告别》和《海》，于此同时，德格娜导演、策展人吴漫、策展人杨洋、策展人及制片人玛丽亚 A. 鲁吉尔利试图就影像本身，探讨有关原生家庭和内心成长的相关话题。 This session we will present two films from Director Degena Yun, A Simple Goodbye and The sea. After the screening the director, curator Jenny Man Wu, curator Yangyang and producer & curator Maria A. It presents a seemingly desultory time period to tell the story of two generations: A young girl who’s confused about what lies ahead was being sent to England to receive education from childhood. She indulges herself in cyber love and cannot get herself out of the hurtful affair. A middle-aged father who’s perplexed about death left hometown for Beijing when he was young. He feels helpless about the status quo of the state-owned film studio. Tortured by terminal disease, he gives up the hope to live on.

I think they always knew that “an end” awaits them. But it was hard for them to face it. When it comes to death and loss, there is a moment in which the most genuine clarity appears. Nevertheless, on the way to that particular moment, one may experience desire and panic triggered by uncertainty. This is what I think is the saddest part in life - most of the time we are so blind during our journey, while the truth is hidden by an uncertain mind. Only on a few occasions can we express deep compassion to others, from the bottom of our hearts. 交流嘉宾
德格娜（导演） Degena Yun(Director) 出生于内蒙古，毕业于伦敦大学皇家霍洛维学院传媒艺术系，北京电影学院导演系硕士。2015年拍摄处女作《告别》，荣获第25届东京国际电影节亚洲未来单元“亚洲精神特别奖”；第33届意大利都灵电影节“最佳剧作奖”；第9届西宁First青年电影展“最佳剧情长片”；第10届华语青年影像论坛“年度新锐编剧”，“评委会特别表彰年度影人”；第7届“影协杯”优秀电影剧作；圣保罗・米尼阿波斯国际电影节新兴导演奖；第1届柏林华语电影节新导演奖；金马国际影展“华语透视届”；多伦多国际电影节；香港国际电影节；美国马尔发电影节等。 Degena Yun born in Inner Mongolia, graduated from University of London, obtain a MA in Film Directing from Beijing Film Academy. She directed her debut A Simple Goodbye in 2015 which received the following awards. 玛丽亚 A. 鲁吉尔利（制片人&策展人） Maria A. RUGGIERI（Producer & Curator） Maria A. RUGGIERI是一位精通中国电影和中国电影市场的汉学家。她是威尼斯国际电影节，洛迦诺国际电影节和马拉喀什国际电影节常驻北京的选片顾问。Maria也是第一届意大利新一代电影节・中国2012的策展人，和北京国际电影节“注目未来”单元欧洲选片人。她作为制片人参与了唐晓白执导的影片《秘密花园》（Secret Garden）（2015），以及创意制片人身份参与莫莉・苏亚执导的印尼奥斯卡参赛片《玛琳娜的杀戮四段式》（Marlina - The Murderer In Four Acts）（2017年戛纳电影节导演双周单元展映）。于2018年她作为销售总监加入Asian Shadows。 Maria A. RUGGIERI is a Sinologist specialized in Chinese Cinema and Cinema in China. Based in Beijing, she has been correspondent of Venice, Locarno and Marrakech IFF for China, and program consultant on Chinese Popular Cinema of Udine Far East FF. She was curator of the first New-Italian-Cinema-Events-China, and program consultant of Beijing IFF Forward-Future for Europe. She worked as producer on Secret Garden by Emily Tang (2015), and as creative producer on the Indonesia’s Foreign-Language Oscar entry Marlina The Murderer in Four Acts by Mouly Surya (2017). In 2018, she joined Asian Shadows as Head of Sales and Acquisitions.
杨洋（策展人） Yang Yang (Curator) 本科毕业于北京大学法语言文学专业，硕士毕业于比利时布鲁塞尔自由大学艺术管理专业。2001年参与创办国内首个以多元化性别议题为主题的影展：北京酷儿影展，并担任2005年第二届和2011年第五届组委会轮值主席；2008-2010，任职于比利时布鲁塞尔皇家电影资料馆华语电影基金会办公室，负责中国电影资料档案管理；2012年，担任62届柏林电影节“Teddy Award”评委，同年导演制作纪录片《我们的故事－北京酷儿影展十年游击战》在柏林电影节首映，其后陆续在数十个国际影展展映；2013年，在北京策划举办国内首个以女性为主题的电影展：北京女性影展；2013-至今，先后担任国内首家民营艺术电影院百老汇电影中心节目与宣传推广经理及副总监，参与全国艺术电影放映联盟的发起创建。2017年-至今，参与创办山一国际女性影展并担任艺术顾问。 In 2004 she graduated from Peking University with a B.A degree of French language; in 2010, she received a master degree of Cultural Management at Université Libre de Bruxelles with the greatest distinction. In 2001, she co-founded Beijing Queer Film Festival, and became the committee director in 2005 and 2011. From 2008- 2010, she worked as archivist at the Chinese Film Fund of Belgium Royal Film Archives (Cinematek) in Brussels. In 2012, she was the jury member for “Teddy Award” at 62nd Berlinale Film Festival. The same year, her first documentary film "Our story - the 10 years guerrilla history of Beijing Queer Film festival" was premiered at Berlinale, and shown at different film festivals later on. In 2013, she founded a first film festival focus on women filmmakers in China - Beijing Women Film Festival. Since 2013, she is the programming and marketing director of the first independant art-house cinema in China - Broadway Cinematheque in Beijing. In 2017, she co-founded The One International Women Film Festival.
吴漫（策展人） Wu Man(Curator) 漫步精心影像与艺术创始人，曾任龙跃中欧制片人协会中国负责人，北京酷儿影展组委和轮值主席。曾作为策展人于北京酷儿影展、爱酷电影周、赫尔辛基艺术节、伊斯坦布尔当代美术馆、北京国际设计周等策划不同主题影片展映。导演和制片电影作品曾参加柏林国际电影节、维也纳国际影展、布鲁塞尔国际女性影展、多特蒙德国际女性影展、首尔国际女性影展、FIRST青年影展等。曾参与国际交流项目包括歌德学院主办的德国慕尼黑文化交流计划和日本京都市立博物馆主办的京都电影人实验室，柏林电影节天才训练营等。 Founder of Inadvertent Video and Art, was in charge of the China Project at Bridging the Dragon Sino-European Producers’ Association, Committee member and Director on Duty of Beijing Queer Film Festival. She was the jury of FIRST film festival and HUA international short film festival. She was the curators of several short film showcases in various events including Beijing Queer Film Festival, Love Queer Cinema Week, Helsinki Festival, Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, Beijing Design Week, etc. The films that she directed and produced were screened at the Berlinale, Viennale, Women's Film Festival of Brussels, Dortmund International Women's Film Festival, SEOUL International Women's Film Festival and FIRST Film Festival, Beijing Independent Film Festival, etc. Participated international exchange programs include Cultural Management Program in Munich organized by Goethe Institute, Kyoto Fimmaker’s Lab organized by Kyoto Museum in Japan and Berlinale Talents Program.
