Sun Wu (544-470 BC) was born in Shandong, China into an aristocratic family which was known for producing militarists. As a famous strategist in the Spring and Autumn period, he led the Wu army in conquering the State of Chu. He was honored as the progenitor of Chinese military strategy for his work The Art of War, which was highly esteemed by later strategists and now has become a military bible of world renown. |
