每个人写的主旨大意都可能是不完整的，带有个人的理解，但是把多个人主旨的共同点提取后，就可以写出完整，并为大多数人认可的主旨大意。 在一个名为Yellow ribbon的故事中，Vingo刑满释放，回家途中告诉车上的其他旅客自己的经历，倘若到了他的村口，村口的老橡树上要是系着黄丝带，就表明，他的妻子仍然爱他，欢迎他回来，如果没有看到黄丝带，他就不回家了，结果最终大家看到村口的橡树上挂满了黄丝带。学生写了如下的主旨大意，写在PPT上后，全班学生一起从PPT上找四位学生写的主旨中3/4，即n-1，人都包含的词，即共识词。 1. A girl welcome his husband who was in jail before to home 2. Vingo left home for four years and his wife and children are waiting for him. 3. Though the man stayed in jail for 4 years, his wife still waiting for him. 4. Vingo saw atree covered with yellow handkerchiefs knowing his wife was waiting for him. 下面把共识词标出了颜色，这样就更好辨识和统计。
把这些共识词按照逻辑关系连起来，就构成了达成共识的主旨句The wife still waited for her husband who had been in jail. 可改进。 用以上方法训练出的学生，很容易能够识别出高考试题中的主旨大意题选项的真伪。以浙江2018年11月高考英语C篇的主旨题为例。 30.
