很多人问我，在纽约上班的你，全英文工作环境中英语进步是不是非常快？我心里是不确定的，因为我从来还没有这么觉得：“额，今天不错，表达能力还可以哦，有进步”。继续加油咯！下面整理的内容大部分是我在开会中或者跟同事聊天时听到他们在使用，还有就是在邮件中的看到的一些表达方式就稍微记录了下，现在整理出来10点，稍微有点杂乱，但还是希望对你们有用。 1 more than likely 非常有可能，尤其在阐述某个事情的发展趋势时，如果非常有把握是往某个方向发展，就可以用这个来表达 It's more than likely that this problem will occur again. 如果后面是接否定词，意思就是相当于probably-可能 的意思 She will more than likely not get the job. 2 something is generally preferred 我想平时用主动句式比较频繁，例如 I prefer red . 但对某个东西或者事情来说，就要用被动句式。例如 The active voice is generally preferred in business writing 3 that (being) said 话说回来 That being said, that said, having said that 这三个都是同样一个意思，针对已经说过的再次强调解释 We should treat all students with tolerance and understanding. That [being] said, a student who engages in threatening or violent behavior should be expelled from the school. We cannot tolerate such aggression. 4 highly doubt 深表怀疑 有时可以直接这样简短使用: [I] highly doubt it！ 注意区分： I hardly doubt it. (means you doubt it only a little) I highly doubt it (means you doubt it a lot) 5 eventually [ɪˈventʃuəli] 最终 终于 同义词还有finally, 虽然意思很相近，但是有点点差别的. eventually，最终会发生，可以是已经发生或者还没发生 I will eventually get married and have kids finally，如果你想强调某件事情经历了好久，并且最后终于发生了，就用它 He finally found a job 6 Take baby steps 一小步一小步来吧 Taking baby steps is better than taking no steps at all! Take aby steps to achieve your goals. 7 Rewind a few days/months/years back to when... 回到某个时候 Rewind a few years back to when the restaurant was under construction 8 aside from... 除了 Aside from her salary, she receives money from investments. He’d eaten half a loaf of bread, and that was aside from the sandwichhe’d had earlier. 9 momentarily 立刻 我想在口语中用的好像还真不多，我是在邮件中看到有人用 The Boston weather forecast has made us alter our plans slightly.
