Today, my topic is My friends. To make my presentation much clearer, I’d like to divide the teaching structure into the following parts: analysis of teaching material, students, teaching and learning methods, teaching procedure and blackboard design. Now I am about to present them one by one. 说教材 1. The first part is the analysis of teaching material Today's lesson is from Unit 2, Book 4, PEP. Its main theme is friends, which is a quite useful topic. Hence, Ss will learn how to describe their friends in a real situation. English classes in grade 4 get much closer with Ss' real life, accordingly, the topic of this grade became more practical. According to the demands of the New Standard English, I divide my lesson objectives into three categories: knowledge objects, ability objects and moral objects. The knowledge objects include to understand the sentences and finish the matching exercise. And Ss can finish the write exercise Ability objects contain to talk about friends by using the useful expressions in a real situation and their ability of reading and writing could be improved. At last moves to moral objects. The moral objects is Ss can find the importance of making friends and cherish their friendship in their daily life after this lesson. Based on the objectives, I make the teaching key points and difficult points as follow. Teaching key points include: How to help the Ss to finish the matching exercise. Ss are able to write in a proper way. While the teaching difficult point is that Ss are able to find the importance of making friends and cherish their friendship in their daily life. 说学情 1. The second part is analysis of students. Students of Grade 4 have studied English for almost 2 years and grasped a certain amount of English knowledge. They are eager to show, eager to learn. They can cooperate with their classmates to finish a task. On the other hand, students' ability of using English is limited; their abstract thinking is not fully developed and they can be easily distracted. Therefore, all of these shall be taken into consideration in today's teaching. 教法学法 Now let's come to the third part, analysis of teaching and learning methods According to students' physical and mental characteristics, I'll adopt task-based teaching method and communicative method with the help of multi-media and blackboard. As for learning method, presentation and group work will be arranged in order to cultivate students' individual learning, cooperative learning and exploring abilities. 说教序 过渡语 Teaching procedure is the fourth part of my teaching structure. I’ll finish this lesson in 6 steps: Leading-in, Presentation, Practice, Consolidation, Summary and Homework. Step 1: Warming up & Lead- in Now let’s come to the first step. Firstly, I'll greet with my Ss in different ways. Sing a “Hello song” for warming up. I will play a game Catching the mouse to review some words, friendly, strong, tall, thin. Then, Ss are encouraged to describe their desk-mates in turn. By doing so, I can create a relaxed study atmosphere. Step 2: Pre-reading Show picture of the book and ask the following question: T: Where are they? Ss: ..... T:Can you try to describe them? Ss: .... Ss are able to have a good prepare for the passage. Step 3: While-reading After their description, Ss are encouraged to listen to these sentences for the first time and match the child with these sentences. 2. Ss listen to the tape for a second time and check their answers. 3. I will show pictures of some cartoon characters, such as Garfield, Cinderella, Snow White, they may use the following words and sentence structure: She has..... She is ...., tall and strong, thin... Then, play a game “Hot potato” to choose the one who can show their results. The Communicative Approach is well applied in this step to promote the Ss' ability of listening and speaking. Ss are able to improve their reading skills through finishing a series of exercises. Step 4:Post-reading Firstly, Ss finish the writing exercise based on the pictures and words of the textbook. Then, write one of their classmate. Some of them shall show their results. They may refer to the sentence structure of the book. The purpose of this step is to develop Ss’ comprehensive ability of using language. The task based teaching methods can help Ss have a good command of language. Ss can achieve the aim “Learning by doing” through finishing the task. Step5: Summary The Ss are supposed to summarize what they have learnt, and the teacher give supplement timely. The teacher stress the importance of making friends. Ss are able to have a good review of what they have learnt. Teacher can check their learning results. Step6: Homework Ss are encourage to describe their classmates or teachers to their friends or family members. They are supposed to share their results next class. This step aims to help Ss use what they have learnt in their daily life. Open homework is a good way for Ss to arouse their interests of learning English. 说板书 Blackboard design The final step is the blackboard design. On the blackboard, I wrote the topic of this lesson. Then the language points of key structures are presented. In this way, students could see what they have learned clearly and get the main structure of the passage. That’s all for my presentation.
