每日晨读《The best job》

Betty is a lazy girl. She doesn't study hard, and she doesn't help her mother with the housework, either.

贝蒂是一个懒惰的女孩。她不努力学习, 也不帮助她的妈妈做家务。

'What are you going to be when you grow up, Betty?' Mother asks.

“你长大了打算做什么，贝蒂？”母亲问。

 'You're too lazy. No job will ever fit you. '

“你太懒了。没有适合你的工作。

'But I know one, ' says the girl, 'I'm going to be Father Christmas. '

“但我知道一个”小姑娘说，“我要成为圣诞老人。”

'You want to be Father Christmas?' Mother is surprised. 'But why?'

“你想成为圣诞老人吗?“母亲很惊讶。“但为什么?”

'Because he works only one day in a whole year. '

“因为他一年只工作一天。”
