Dick is seven years old, and his sister Mary is five. Today their mother takes them to their grandma’s house and then she goes out.

迪克七岁了，他的妹妹玛丽五岁。今天妈妈把他们送到了奶奶家，然后就出去了。

The children play for an hour, and then at four thirty their grandma takes Dick into the kitchen. 

孩子们玩了一个小时。四点半的时候，奶奶把迪克带进厨房。

She gives him a nice cake and a knife and says, “Like a gentleman, give the bigger piece to the other.”

她给了他一个漂亮的蛋糕和一把刀，说：“像个绅士一样，把大的那块儿给别人。”

Dick thinks about this for a moment. He says to Mary, “You cut this cake, Mary.”

迪克想了一会儿。他对玛丽说：“玛丽，你来切蛋糕。”
