However, in order to blend gracefully into this fast-paced game, we need to first understand some basic rules of polo and polo watching etiquette, so that you can fully enjoy the the sport of polo. 比赛规则 1赛制 马球比赛为两队对抗赛，每队4人4马，双方击球入对方球门得分，分高队伍获胜。 马球比赛以小节（Chukkers）为单位，正规比赛最多为6个小节，通长为4个小节，每节7分钟，届时会以响铃提示球员和裁判以示本小节结束。每小节之间休息3分钟，中场休息5分钟。如果铃声响起时球员在带球奔跑过程中，则本小节再加长30秒。（最后一小节比赛除外） Polo is a game between two teams, each team has 4 players and 4 horses. The two teams score by hitting the ball into the opponent's goal and the team with the highest goal wins. Polo matches are organized by sections (Chukkers). The number of chukkers ranges from 4 to 6, and each lasts for 7 minutes. The players and umpires are reminded by ringing bells to end the chukker. There is also a break during the interval between 3 minutes and 5 minutes for players to rest and change ponies. When the bell rings and the ball is still being played then the players will have an additional 30 seconds. (except for the last chukker)  2换场 每次进球后两只球队会互换球门，裁判会在中场位置以抛球形式重新开球。 After each goal, two teams will switch sides, and the umpire will toss the ball in the middle of the field.  3规则 1、运球路线：是指球被击后的运行轨迹。比赛中，裁判主要依靠运球路线和球员进攻路线来进行处罚；带球运球的球员享有该路线的进攻权。 2、球员进攻权：是指击球后的球员有使用该运球路线并再次击球的权利。谁最后击球，谁就拥有进攻权。对方不可在进攻球员的前面横穿运球路线，干预进攻甚至将球撞离运球路线。但是并排侧面阻挡或使用球杆干扰是允许的;角度小于45度的冲撞也并不算犯规。冲撞接触点仅仅限于马的臀部和肩部，球员间的故意碰撞则视为违例； 3、比赛中规定右手持球杆。球员不可用球杆故意触击对方球员和他的马匹； 4、由于7分钟的比赛过于激烈，马匹多数在急停急跑中变换，这对马和人的体力是非常大的考验。为保证比赛状态，通常每个小节每位球手都要更换马匹。每匹马球马最多可在一场比赛中参加两节。 1. Dribble line: refers to the trajectory of the ball after being hit. In games, umpires mainly rely on the line of the ball to determine fouls; player carrying the ball have the right of way. 2. The player's offensive power: The player who hits the ball has the right to the line the ball makes. Whoever hits the ball has the right to attack and can create new lines. The opponent is not allowed to cross the line in front of the attacking player, interfere with the attack and even knock the ball off the line. But riding the player off is allowed; a collision with an angle less than 45 degrees is not a foul. Collision contact are restricted to the hips and shoulders of horses, and intentional collision between players is regarded as a violation. 3. Players are only allowed to hold the mallet with the right hand, and players are not allows to hit their opponents or ponies intentionally. 4. Since the 7 minute game is too intense for the ponies, as most of the ponies often have to make sudden stops and changes, each player are required to change their ponies after each chukker. Players can switch ponies during the game and each pony cannot play for a total of longer than 7 minutes. 观赛传统 1踏草皮 作为一个历史深厚的体育运动，马球自然有着很多传统，其中踏草皮是最有名的一项活动。在中场休息时，队员会在场下进行休整以及对于战术的讨论，这时主持人会邀请观众到赛场上进行踏草皮的传统。所谓踏草皮就是将赛场上马蹄踢翻的草坪踩平。这样可以帮助下半场比赛顺利进行。这也是唯一一项观众可以深入赛场的运动。 As a sport with a long history, Polo naturally has a lot of traditions, of which divot stomping is the most famous activity. While the players rest during half-time and discuss tactics for the next half of the game, the host will invite the spectators to the field to stomp the divots. The so-called divot stomping is where spectators stomp on the grass that have been kicked over by the ponies.
