If you plan to come to Beijing from overseas in the near future, you are requested to take temperature before boarding. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you are not allowed to get aboard. If you are a COVID-19 patient or a suspected patient or in close contact with COVID-19 patients, you should take local medical treatment or observation instead of taking international travel with the disease and symptoms. The following are some detailed messages to share with you. 1. Those who enter Beijing from overseas will be transferred to designated observation place for centralized medical observation of 14 days. 2. It is safer and more secure to take centralized medical observation than home observation for the designated observation places have medical professionals and working staff. 3. For people who need centralized medical observation, we will arrange specific staff and vehicles to pick you up and take you to the designated observation place. 4. At the centralized medical observation place, basic living services will be provided and you are supposed to take health checks there. If your family want to send you necessities like clothes and food, you should first contact the staff at the observation place for permission, and strictly follow the procedures required for hand-overs. The costs will be borne by yourselves during the observation period. 5. People can apply for home observation under the following two particular circumstances: first, when they are elders over 70, juveniles, pregnant and maternal women or people with underlying diseases who are unsuited for centralized medical observation; second, when they live alone in a separate residence. 6. Those who intend to have home observation should contact their residential communities before entering Beijing from overseas. After assessments, if you meet the requirements, you will be allowed to stay at home for medical observation. Community workers and professionals from the health sectors will drop in to verify your conditions for home observation and ask you to sign “Letter of Commitment for Home Observation”. 7. People who plan to enter Beijing from overseas should contact their residential communities beforehand to seek advice or to report relevant information. 8. For those with basic medical insurance who are diagnosed with or suspected to have COVID-19 upon their return to China, all the medical expenses incurred shall be reimbursed and subsidized under relevant provisions of the basic medical insurance. For those in the same situation without basic medical insurance, the medical expenses incurred should be borne, in principle, by the patients themselves. For those in the same situation who have commercial medical insurance, the medical expenses incurred can be covered in accordance with the provisions of their respective commercial insurance contracts. For those who have been verified to have financial difficulties, the medical expenses incurred shall be subsidized according to the relevant provisions of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases.
