But in that era he wouldn't have survived if Jeff didn't turn him into a post machine by adding tons and tons of weight. He had always been an elite rim protector and paint defender, he was not close to Gobert level but his height still makes him a great defensive pillar espevially cutting off connections of elite play makers, as his forwards can rely on his defense towards any finishes so they focus more on lateral movement to cut the passing. Also his B-ball IQ is great.
