介词短语，是介词和其它代词或名词或词组搭配形成的短语。口语上简称“介短”。该短语主要是用来表示词与词， 词与句之间的关系。

97. on behalf of 代表，为了……的利益

用法：on behalf of后面可以跟表示人、团队、公司之类的名词、代词或者名词词组。

例句：The ability to guard customer data is the key to market value, which the board is responsible for on behalf of shareholders.  (2007年考研)

董事会代表股东负责保护客户数据，这种能力是市场价值的关键。

语法结构分析：The ability to guard customer data是主语，to guard customer data是不定式词组作状语， is是系动词， the keyto market value是表语, which引导非限制性定语从句， the board是主语， is是系动词， responsible for是表语， on behalf of shareholders是状语。

98. on display展览

用法：on display通常与系动词连用，也可以用on show，一般不放在句首。

例句：People were much interested in the job resources on display.  (2013年6月四级)

人们对展示的工作资源很感兴趣。

语法点：much是副词，在句中修饰形容词interested。

99. on holiday在度假

用法：on holiday一般在句中作表语或者时间状语。

例句：For that, we have a robust informal learning system that gives nogrades, takes all comers, and is available even on holiday and weekends.  (2015年12月六级)

为此，我们有一个非常强大的非正式的学习体系，不分等级，适合所有人，即使在假日和周末也适用。

100. on leave休假

用法：on leave在句中作表语，同义短语有on holiday。

例句：The headteacher is on leave from school this week. 

班主任这个星期休假了。
