动词短语是由动词和介词、副词、名词等构成的，在句中作谓语。

65. fight against与……作斗争

用法：fight against后常接名词或者代词，与struggle with同义。

例句：We have great respect for those who fight against evil forces.

我们十敬佩同恶势力作斗争的人。

语法结构分析：We是主语， have是谓语动词， great respect是宾语， for those是状语， who引导定语从句，作主语， fight against是谓语，evil forces是宾语。

66. fight for为……而斗争

用法：fight for后面一般接名词或者名词词组。

例句：Lots of women are unhappy with their present situation, but most of them probably don’twant to fight for change. (2014年12月四级)

许多女性对她们目前的处境不满意，但是她们中的大多数可能并不想为改变而斗争。

67. fight with与……并肩作战

用法：fight with后的人称代词，必须是宾格形式。

例句：They fought with each other and built a deep friendship.

他们并肩作战，建立了深厚的友谊。

68. figure on指望，计划，打算

用法：figure on作“指望”解时，可与count on转换，后常接名词或者是动名词形式。

例句：Don’t figure on him to say anything sensible.

不要指望他说出什么明智的话。
