动词短语是由动词和介词、副词、名词等构成的，在句中作谓语。

153.worry about担心

用法：worry about只用于主动语态，不用于被动语态。

例句：Maybe we’d better allow an extra month, so we won’t have to worry about being late. (2013年12月六级)

或许我们最好再宽限一个月，这样我们就没必要担心会误事了。

语法结构分析：Maybe是状语， we是主语，had better allow是谓语， an extra month是宾语, so是连接词作状语， we是主语， won’t have to worry about 是谓语，being late是宾语。

154.yell at对……吼叫

用法：yell at也可以用yell out at来表示，可以用介词about或for引出具体对象。

例句：The dog yelled at the little in pain.

那只小狗痛苦地对小女孩叫唤着。

155. yield to屈服，让步

用法：yield to一般不用于被动语态，只用于主动语态。

例句：Our soldiers didn’t yield to the enemy’s torture.

我们的战士没有屈服于敌人的酷刑。

156. beat up痛打，暴打

用法：beat up可以写成beat up sb或者beat sb up的形式，表示痛打或者暴打某人。

例句：My father remembers that he was beat up by my grandfather for lying.

爸爸记得因为说谎被爷爷痛打了一顿。
