Jacqueline Bouvier was born on July 28, 1929. Her life would be filled with happiness, sadness, and fame.

As a child, she loved to ride horses. She took ballet lessons. She went to the best private schools.

During her college years, she spent some time in France where she learned to speak French very well. After graduation, she took a job as a "reporter-photographer摄影记者" for a newspaper in Washington, D.C. That means she talked with many famous people and took their pictures.

One of the people she met was Senator John Kennedy. They got married in 1953. Their daughter, Caroline, was born four years later. John Kennedy became President in 1960. Their son, John, Jr., was born in 1960.

Jackie was a very popular First Lady. She was elegant典雅的, smart, and charming迷人的. Everyone admired her. She was a devoted用心的 wife and mother. She redecorated重新装修 the White House. Then she hosted the first televised电视播送 tour of it.

In 1963, President Kennedy was assassinated. Jackie’s gallant勇敢的courage during this tragedy touched the hearts of people worldwide. 

Jackie married Aristotle Onassis in 1968. He was a wealthy shipping merchant商人 in Greece.

She and her children lived there until he died in 1975. She then moved to New York and worked many years as an editor for a large book publisher.

John, Jr. spoke with great pride at his mother's funeral in 1994. Jackie was buried next to President Kennedy in Arlington National Cemetery公墓.
