Nowadays we are far away from this kind of poverty, therefore, there is less resonance to the storyline for my part. But the micromesh details of great works are most affecting crossing generation. Poverty is original sin. A couple have to seek joy in sorrow with love between each other. Like Della and Jim, the coincidence is so sarcasm from life with nothing to do but suffer with big smile. 02 玉米百合 Life is made up sobs,sniffles,and simles,with sniffles predominating. It is absolutely for them to be beaten by the misery. No matter how tough they are, they never lose heart. Della and Jim try their best to show their true love. Unfortunately, the gifts they give each other become useless. From this story, I experience the meaning of sacrifice for love. Money is not everything, but without money, everything is nothing. I hope everyone can own their true love. I donnot want to see the "tragedy"any more. 03 Gelsey I do not want to dig any deep meaning of this novel, as everyone gets their rights to interpret, and that has no union standard. I prefer to analyze O'Henry's novel techniques. As we can see, he is good at showing us the story by the way of shooting movie. Sometimes, he zooms out, so we can see the generally view. Try the following sentences. "While the mistress of the home is gradually subsiding from the first stage to the second, take a look at the home. A furnished flat at $8 per week." So we can see the apartment from God's view and understand the background better. Sometimes, however, he zooms his camera in, and we can see the tiny waves in character's mind. For example, "Jim stopped inside the door, as immovable as a setter at the scent of quail." We may have the experience that a movie, at least a good one, always use episodes , such as a close- up shot to an animal, a cat or a flock of pigeons , to adjust the movie rhythm and soothe viewer mind. O'Henry also used the trick in this novel. As Della stood by the window, a cat shows up in our view. That is "a gray cat walking a gray fence in a gray backyard." I personally think only good author can put the episode in such a natural and proper way. 04 爱的流星雨 Through reading “ The gift of the Mage ”, let me know that , even if there is no useful gift , it ' s not meaningless . After all , the gift is just a kind of sustenance , really important , not the value geometry of the gift , but the depth of the feeling contained in the gift . It is important to value your love in life . Of course , it is just my personal point of view . 05 Tina Life is made up of sobs,sniffles,and smiles,with sniffles predominating--If you are experiencing some serious difficulty, you may agree this is a quotable line. Poverty is the serious difficulty for Della and Jim in this story,and O Henry's teasing style makes the bitterness taste even miserable. But even in the solitary grey background, life is not despairing, there were 'hours tripped by on rosy wings.' I LOVE this since school age. Aren't we living and forbearing in dully life,just for this moment? I even belive this lovely,transient moment, not to mention the endearing effect of this accidental twist, pays off all the unwise sarcrifice they made for each other. Sometimes we feel drained and out of wit, managing with the troubles in our lives. Yet O Henry tells us, something other than wisedom, can make us Magi as well. 编辑：灵厄 |
