AB STRACT The Chinese herbal medicine is Chinese medicine to develop for severalthousand years. Under the instruction of the Chinese medicine theories, it has specialcurative effect ; The opposite safety and the side effect are small. But the safety ofChinese herbal medicine we can't neglect. Increase and use the extension of medicinescope along with Chinese herbal medicine various types,'Chinese herbal medicinetoxicity ' also causes people's attention more and more. Dang gui si ni decoction is a well-known decoction of Typhoid Theory,which theclinical usage is extensive and valid . In recent years, Aristolichic acid (AA) has akidney toxicity strongly and the National Medicine Checks Bureau requests that it isreplaced an usage by June 30, 2003. Therefore, under instruction of the Chinesemedicine theories and clinical experiences of The professor of Yuan jin-sheng, wesubstitute Salvia miltiorrhiza bge and Spatholobus suberectus dumm for Manchuriandutchmanspipe stem of Dang gui si ni decoction. So we avoided the toxicity of theManchurian dutchmanspipe stem and can continue to use the decoction again. Methods: This study passed an experience, with the general existence condition,the variety of kidney function and the pathology check of kidney of SD rat forprognosticate index sign, we observe the influence of rats, kidney toxicity of the Danggui si ni gai liang decoction. Results: Dang gui si ni gai liang decoction has no kidney toxicity and it providesthe evidence of science for clinical safety to use.
