很多人从字面上以为

cloth 是 clothes 的单数形式，都表示 “衣服”

错了！❎

cloth → 布料 （不可数）

a piece of silk cloth 一块丝绸布料

clothes → 衣服 （永远是复数形式）

clothing → 衣服的统称 （不可数名词）

She began cleaning the wound with a piece of cloth.
