这句话比喻只要饱读诗书，学有所成，气质才华自然横溢，高雅光彩。用白话文来讲，其实就是三毛所说的，读书多了，容貌自然改变。

网络版译文其实已经很到位了，“气自华”译作了behaves with elegance。而思维发散版中的gentleman，绅士，本就指言行优雅的人，更可以用来翻译《论语》中的“君子”。并且这样的形式是出自上周扒过的那句话“Manners maketh man”。
