Max Nonnenbruch (1857-1922) Max Nonnenbruch was a German painter at the Munich school, known for his neoclassicism and symbolic scenes. He studied at the 1875 for two years, then at the 1877 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich. He also studied at the Ecole des beaux-arts and the Ecole Julien in Paris. In 1880, the artist and friends Hans Ould and Kraus Elana Meyer travelled to Paris and Italy. Max Nonnenbruch is very involved in Munich's artistic life. He was president of the artists'support association in Munich and a member of the General Art Cooperative in Germany. He was also the Secretary of the Exhibition Committee for the International Exhibition of art at the Glass Palace in Munich in 1892. At 1890s, the painter made several trips to England and France. His works, which feature young women, dancers and showgirls in Oriental costumes, can be seen in many Greek and Roman contexts: Greek vases, jewelry, hairstyles, columns and mosaics.
The purity of the countryside is particularly evident in his work, which depicts young women dressed in vintage beachfront clothes.
