【简析】通过读题干可知，题目主要考目的状语从句，读题干可知：主句中 We worked hard（我们努力工作），从从句中有情态动词we could finish our work ahead of time.（我们能提前完成工作），即用 so that表目的， 所以此题答案为B，整句话翻译为：“我们努力工作，目的为了我们能提前完成工作。”

下面我们继续本周《新概念英语2》第60课的重点句型或语法的分享。先来读一读课文：

一、课文原文 

Lesson 60 The future

At a village fair, I decided to visit a fortune-teller called Madam Bellinsky. I went into her tent and she told me to sit down. After I had given her some money, she looked into a crystal ball and said: 'A relation of yours is coming to see you. She will be arriving this evening and intends to stay for a few days. The moment you leave this tent, you will get a big surprise. A woman you know well will rush towards you. She will speak to you and then she will lead you away from this place. That is all.' As soon as I went outside, I forgot all about Madam Bellinsky because my wife hurried towards me. 'Where have you been hiding?' she asked impatiently. 'Your sister will be here in less than an hour and we must be at the station to meet her. We are late already.' As she walked away, I followed her out of the fair.

二、重点句型或语法   

本课主要学习将来的表达和名词作定语的用法。

一、本课侧重学习条件状语从句和时间状语从句中将来的表达，也就

    是“主将从现”的用法。

 

   1、在条件和时间状语从句中，从句的动词会用一般将来时表将来。

    例如：

If it rains tomorrow, we will stay at home. 

如果明天下雨，我们就呆在家里。

As soon as the rain stops, we will go out.

雨一停我们就出去。

【注意】第一句，在if条件状语从句中，rains虽然采用一般现在时，但却表示将来某个时间下雨的动作。第二句，在时间状语从句中，stops也采用了一般现在时，却表示将来雨停了的动作。此处 as soon as= the moment ，表示“一……就……”。

2、现在进行时也可用来表示为将来安排好的活动和事件。通常需要一个

表示时间的状语（往往是不久的将来）。arrive、come、go、leave、spend等动词的进行时经常有这种用法，用来表示行程安排有关的“将到达或将离去” 等意思。例如：

He’s arriving this evening.

他将今晚到达。

We’re spending next winter in Australia.

明年冬天我们将在澳大利亚度过。

二、名词作定语

有些名词作定语修饰名词，一般第一个名词大部分是对第二个名词进行分类或者是第二个名词的材料、属性、来源、时间、地点、内容和分类等加以说明。例如：
a girl student 表分类	a meeting room 表用途
a wine glass 表材料	tomorrow morning 表时间
a kitchen window 表地点	a story book 表内容
