这段对话中英文“财富”非常多： quitting time 下班时间 I'm dead tired by the quitting time. 下班时，我都快累死了。 clock out 打卡下班 （对应的说法是：clock in） Remember to clock out before you go home. 下班回家前记得打卡。 He clocked out early Tuesday to go to the doctor. 星期二他提早打卡下班，去看了医生。 brainstorm 好主意；脑力激荡；脑筋风暴 I had a sudden brainstorm and got out of bed to write it down. 我突然有了个好主意，起床写了下来。 Let’s brainstorm a list of what we can do to solve this problem. 我们来脑力激荡，列出我们能采取的解决问题的办法。 no way 不行；没门 Now he's asking me to lend him my car. No way! 现在他（又来）叫我把车借给他。没门！ first thing in the morning 一大早；早上第一件事 Call Mr. Smith first thing in the morning. 一大早就给史密斯先生打电话。 I’m through doing… 这个用法很常见，不过在字典里你却找不到。Through可以表达“完成”的意思，但这一表达的意思赞同于：I don’t want to do… anymore. I’m through talking with you! 我不想跟你说话了！ deadline 截止期限 这个词指必须完成某事物的期限。如果要指“须在截止期限前完成”，可以说： meet a deadline 变化用法就是： have a deadline to meet There's no way I can meet the deadline. 我不可能在截止期限前完成。 crank out 快速地（、机械地）完成 John can crank a lot of work out in a single day. 约翰一天就能赶出很多活。 under pressure 承受着压力 I have to get back to work. I am under a lot of pressure lately. 我得回去工作。我最近压力很大。 Now it's your time to open your mouth and practice! 张开嘴巴练起来！ |
