昨天学习了一个习语have the guts，其中用到了单词guts，复习一下，还记得它的意思吧？guts = enough courage and determination to do sth. 这让我想起了另外一个形近的词： nuts 虽然形近，意思可不相近。nut的原意是“坚果”，不过，今天我们要讲的nuts可不是指复数的坚果，而是一个形容词，意思等同于“crazy”，就是“疯狂的”。 最常听到的用法： Are you nuts? 你疯了吗？ You must be nuts for saying yes! 你真是疯了，居然会答应。 If you think I will agree to do that, you’renuts! 如果你认为我会同意那么做，你就是疯了！ 常见的搭配用法： drive sb. nuts 把某人逼疯 The noisy music is driving me nuts! 这嘈杂的音乐让我发疯！ All these phone calls are driving me nuts. 所有这些电话让我发疯。 下面这个搭配也很常用： be nuts about 为某人/事而疯狂；热恋某人/迷恋某事 He’s absolutely nuts about her. 他非常迷恋她。 My boyfriend is nuts about racing cars. 我男朋友非常迷赛车。 So,here is the thing: Are you nuts about anything?
