Talking Trees

A long time ago, a girl named Julie lived in the woods. Her mother and father built a little log house from trees that had fallen down. Julie played all day with deer and rabbits. At night, she and her parents ate dinner in the warm cabin.

Julie had a good life, but she was lonely. She leaned her head against a tall oak tree. “I wish I had a friend,” she said.

A bright light flashed, and a pretty woman stepped out of the oak. “I am the fairy of the tree,” she said. “Because you are so kind, the trees will talk to you.” She touched Julie's head with a branch, and then vanished.

From then on, Julie could hear all the trees talking. She learned their names. She learned how to care for them. The trees became her friends, and she was never lonely again.

说话的树

很久以前，一个叫朱莉的女孩住在树林里。她的父母用倒下的树建了一座小木屋。朱莉整天和鹿和兔子玩。晚上，她和父母在温暖的小屋里吃晚饭。

朱莉生活得很好，但她很孤独。她把头靠在一棵高大的橡树上。“我真希望我有个朋友，”她说。

一道亮光闪过，一个漂亮的女人从橡树里走了出来。“我是树上的仙女，”她说。“因为你太好了，树会跟你说话的。”她用树枝碰了一下朱莉的头，然后消失了。

从那时起，朱莉能听到所有的树在说话。她知道了他们的名字。她学会了如何照顾他们。树木成了她的朋友，她从此不再孤单。
