小E最近偏爱柔情摇滚，今天依旧是。这首歌来自Metallica著名同名专辑《Metallica》(由于封面艺术，通常被称为“黑色专辑”)，是其中的第八首歌曲。这张专辑在全球售出了2500万张，这张专辑实在是受欢迎。这首歌是乐队主唱James Hetfield在漫长巡演中因思念女友而创作。专辑一发行，这首歌就大受欢迎。这首歌的制作人是Bob Rock,  Lars Ulrich是联合作者。这也是唯一一首由Hetfield代替Kirk Hammett演奏吉他独奏的歌曲。

虽然这首歌确实无法讨好他们的核心粉丝——因为太柔情了吧，不过确实是真情流露。

有意思的是，乐队主唱James Hetfield一直在上古典吉他课，他想在开场时展示一下自己的指弹技巧。某日，Hetfield在巡演期间，一边拿着吉他一边和女友煲电话粥。电话挂断了，当时随意的弹奏和情感却得以创作和保留下来。他说：“这首歌是我巡演时在房间里写给我自己的，当我因为远离家而沮丧。很神奇。在这首歌里，我真正诚实地暴露了自己。我认为，这坚定了我们做的是正确的事，发自内心地写下我们的感受，是不会错的。”

这首歌由迈克尔·卡门(Michael Kamen)编排，他为歌曲安排了好听的低音部分。乐队为了答谢他，几年后，举办了S&M音乐会和专辑，由卡门指挥旧金山交响乐团(San Francisco Symphony)，而这首歌是其中的中心曲目，并收录其中。

另外，这首歌也是为数不多的使用3/4华尔兹节拍的摇滚乐。
