在该片段中，女主和她妈妈之间有这么一段对话： - She yelled for help. - She yelled for help? What were you doing to her? - Nothing! Why would you assume I was?
- OK, OK, don't jump down my throat.
这里的jump down my throat是什么意思呢？ 其实，这是个英语习语：jump down one's throat。当然，它不是真的表示“跳进我的喉咙里”，而是“对我大喊大叫”的意思，也可以表示“很生某人的气”。
如： I heard you. There's no need to jump down my throat. 我听到了，你没必要对我大呼小叫。 He jumped down my throat when I put forward a different idea. 当我提出不同想法时，他对我很是生气。
除了上面的习语表达之外，我们还可以用下面这些说法来表达“大呼小叫”： yell at sb. exclaim / shout at sb. scream at sb. holler at sb. rave at sb.
此外，英语中也有不少有关throat的习语，比如：
1）be at each other's throats 表示“(两个以上的人或群体等) 打架斗殴；激烈争吵；吵架”，如： The idea that Billy and I are at each other's throats couldn't be further from the truth. 认为我和比利斗得你死我活的想法真是大错特错。
2）cut one's own throat 表示“（尤指生气和要加害于人时）自食恶果，卡自己的脖子，自寻死路”，如： It’s cutting your own throat to be so careless. 你这么粗心大意是在害自己。
3）force/thrust/ram sth down sb's throat 表示“强加于人；强迫接受（观点）”，如： It's a mistake to force your own ideas down his throat. 你把自己的想法强加于他是错误的。
4）clear one's throat 表示“清喉咙；清嗓子”，如： When the bell rang, she would stand up and clear her throat. 当铃一响，她就站起来，同时清清她的喉咙。
5）have a frog in one's throat 表示“（暂时）失音，嗓音嘶哑”，如： She speaks as if there were a frog in her throat. 她说话声音很沙哑。
6）have a lump in one's throat 表示“（因愤怒或情绪激动而）喉咙哽住，哽咽”，如： He had a lump in his throat as he said goodbye to his girlfriend at the airport. 当他在机场告别女友时，他哽咽了。
