有故事.有方法.有工具 这是2019年第73篇原创文章 总224篇原创文章 全文3627字，阅读时间约7分钟 春耕、夏耘、秋收、KEEP精进！ 祝朋友们中秋节快乐！ 9月6日，我受邀参加了Hays举办的主题为“拥抱采购行业的新趋势（Embrace the new trends in Procurement industry）”的高管沙龙活动，并做了主旨演讲“面向未来的新技能”（The skills needed for future）。 因为那天正好台风“玲玲”“来访”，所以我就以讨论天气作为开头，引出对于同一件事物人们不同的思考方式。 下面是我的中英文演讲全文。 Good afternoon, everyone! 大家下午好！ How is the weather today? 今天天气怎么样？ "Terrible!" "Raining"... Some guests echoed... “太可怕了！” “下雨啊”......有些嘉宾回应...... Some people say, it's a super typhoon day! And the winds are up to 55 meters per second. It's pouring cats and dogs outside... 有人说，这是超级台风日！风速高达每秒55米。而且外面瓢泼大雨...... Some people say, it's just a rainy day! Don't waste this romantic moment. 有人说，这只是一个下雨天！不要浪费这个浪漫的时刻。 Guests Laughing...L...L.... 有些嘉宾大笑... Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain, and think it hard for how to embrace such a romantic day on this Friday night! 聆听下雨的节奏，好好想想如何度过这样一个浪漫的星期五的夜晚。 What a big difference! 多大的差异啊！ WHY people's thoughts and perspectives are so different? 为什么人们的想法和观点会如此不同？ --- Alright, now let's do a test! Because the answer itself is not that important. 不用告诉我答案，因为这是你的智慧。因为答案本身并不重要。 We care more about the difference behind your answer. 我们更关心你的答案背后的差异。 Our left side of brain is good at something like verbal, systematic, logical, structural, linear, mathematical, etc. While our right side of brain looks much more colorful, it's full of curiosity, art, imagination, creation, etc. 我们左脑擅长语言，系统，逻辑，结构，线性，数学等等。而我们的右脑看起来更加丰富多彩，且充满了好奇心，艺术，想象力，创造力等。 How do you think? Your left side of brain is good at the so-called Hard Skills. Looking around, you and me, all of us are Procurement and Supply Chain professionals, and we are good at analyzing material cost, calculating cost reduction, and we have our own jargon "Apple to Apple". You see, a typical linear thinking. 你的左脑擅长“硬技能"。看看周围，都是如你我一样的采购和供应链专业人士，我们擅长分析材料成本，计算成本节省，我们有自己的术语“Apple to Apple”。你看，典型的线性思维。 How about our right side of brain? 那我们的右脑呢？ I think most of you have known this T-shaped skills. The horizontal skills are general skills, which means your ability to collaborate across different types of disciplines. For instance, communication is a general skill. Whatever you are a sales person, a buyer or an athlete, communication is always an indispensable part in your daily work and life. The ongoing trend of the general skills is self-iteration, refreshing and upgrading. 我想大多数人都知道这种T型技能。横向技能是通用技能，这意味着你可以跨不同类型的学科进行协作。例如，沟通是一项通用技能。无论你是销售人员，采购还是运动员，沟通始终是你日常工作和生活中不可或缺的一部分。通用技能的发展趋势是自我迭代，更新和升级。 The vertical skills are specialty skills, which means the skills and expertise applied in a particular and single field. For example, category management, sourcing strategy, supply chain planning are the skills for Procurement and Supply Chain Management. 竖向技能是专业技能，这意味着在特定和单一领域应用的技能和专业知识。例如，品类管理，采购战略，供应链计划是采购和供应链管理的专业技能。 Specialty skills are being driven by the combination of old skills and new skills, as a result, the new career opportunities have been emerged. For instance, the Luckin coffee courier is not simply a normal courier, they have to know how to deal with a hot coffee to avoid its spill, and more important, to keep its temperature so as to lock the aroma inside the cup. 老技能和新技能的结合推动了专业技能的发展，并由此催生了新的职业机会。例如，瑞幸咖啡的快递员不仅仅是一个普通的快递员，他们必须知道如何妥善处理热咖啡以避免其溢出，更重要的是，要保持其温度以锁定杯内的香气。 When I look at the T-shaped skills, I"m thinking: are we missing any piece here? 当看到“T”型技能时，我在想：好像少了点什么？ Obviously Yes. We missed Mr. J! Or so called J-shaped skills. 显然，少了J，或者我们叫它“J”型技能。 What does it mean? 这是什么意思？ It means digital skills. Its shape looks like a hook and help us anchor in a place, because this is the skill set we have to process to make a living in the new era. It doesn't belong to either general skills (soft skills) or specialty skills (hard skills) and it does call for both skills combination. 这意味着数字技能。它的形状看起来像一个钩子，帮助我们锚定在一个地方，因为这是我们必须掌握以便在新时代谋生的技能。它不属于通用技能（软技能）或专业技能（硬技能），它是两种技能的组合。 Weeks ago, in the World Economic Forum (WEF), Elon Musk talked about AI. He said, we are already cyborgs because everyone of us is well integrated with our phones and computers. How many of us have heavily relied on our phones to enjoy all convenience and efficiency in such a cashless society, take a taxi, pay a bill, buy an ice cream, all done with a swipe on your phone in a wink. We can't even survive without our phones! And I'm sure, there are more digital skills we can learn and master to make our life better. 几周前，在世界经济论坛上，埃隆马斯克谈到人工智能。他说，我们已经是半机器人，因为我们每个人都与我们的手机和电脑很好地融为一体。我们中有多少人严重依赖我们的手机？在这样一个无现金社会中享受所有便利和效率，比如，乘坐出租车，支付账单，购买冰淇淋等等这些活动，都是通过手机轻扫一下完成的。没有我们的手机，我们甚至无法生存！而且我敢肯定，我们需要学习和掌握更多的数字技能，让我们的生活更美好。 What is the relationship between hard skills (specialty skills) and soft skills (general skills)? 硬技能（专业技能）和软技能（通用技能）之间的关系是什么？ Hard skill is a basis, and your specialty ability. It mostly deals with the relationship between people and subject matter. For instance, the tax experts deal with business tax optimization, the accountants deal with accounts payables and accounts receivables. 硬技能是基础，也是你的专业能力。它主要处理人与事之间的关系。比如，税务专家负责优化营业税，出纳处理应收账款和应付账款。 Soft skills is an upscale construction, your impact ability. It mostly deals with the relationship between people and people. For instance, there is a famous Chinese saying "to defeat the enemy without combat" does involve a series of soft skills, such as communication, negotiation, influence, persuasive, etc. 软技能是上层建筑，是你的影响力。它主要处理人与人之间的关系。有一句很著名的中国谚语叫“不战而屈人之兵”就涉及一系列软技能，如沟通，谈判，影响，说服力等。 When we take a look at the evolution of soft skills during 2015 to 2022, on the one hand, the changes are pretty noticeable, some soft skills are disappeared as time goes by, while some others have been remained unchanged and further strengthened. They are "Creativity, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving". 这是2015年到2022年软技能的演变路线图。一方面，变化非常明显，一些软技能随着时间的推移而消失了，而另一些则保持不变并进一步加强。他们是“创造力，批判性思维和解决问题”。 For example, Creativity has been evolved to "Creativity, originality and initiative". 例如，Creativity已经演变为“创造力，原创性和主动性”。 Now, let's take a look at our Procurement and Supply Management skills, which involve both hard skills and soft skills. This skill set is from ISM, Institute for Supply Management, which publishes the well known PMI (Purchasing Manager Index) every monthly. 现在，我们来看看我们的采购和供应管理技能，包括硬技能和软技能。该技能集来自ISM供应管理协会，该协会每月发布著名的采购经理人指数（PMI）。 There are total 16 relevant skill sets. As this ISM Mastery Model defines, the Business Acumen is a keen awareness and ability to judge business situations informed by analysis. Can you link PMI, GDP, primary suppliers' merging and acquisition with your pricing adjustment and resource planning? In some cases, when SRM is mentioned, lots of reactions are, Oh! SRM is Supplier Risk Management. Yes, it is true, without the good relationship management, we face risks. Therefore supplier relationship management becomes very important, because it helps us identify and mitigate the risks in advance. 第二个是供应商关系管理，简称SRM。在某些情况下，当提到SRM时，很多反应都是，哦！SRM是供应商风险管理。是的，如果没有良好的关系管理，我们就会面临风险。因此，供应商关系管理变得非常重要，因为它有助于我们提前识别和降低风险。 When talking about the supplier relationship management, I put the takeaway as "from Business to Business" to "Business Person to Business Person", because behind each business interaction, whatever it is a business visit, discussion, negotiation, and so on, the main player is people. We have to use our soft skills to influence and impact others so as to achieve the win-win result. 在谈到供应商关系管理时，我放了这样一句可以让大家带走的文字：从“企业对企业”到“人对人”，因为在每次业务交互的背后，无论是商务访问，讨论，谈判等等，主要参与者是人。我们必须利用我们的软技能来影响他人，以实现双赢。 The third one is Systems Capability and Technology. Did you recall the scenario I mentioned earlier in my keynote? How would you master the available and future system and digital capability to advance your career? Digital supply chain transformation is on the rise, supplier eco system is being intensified. All because of this book named "A Whole New World", and the subtitle is "Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the World", and the author is Daniel Pink.
