7分学生非常擅长运用短语动词哦，这些词往往就是简单词take, make, get 等词加上out, in, into 等词构成的，今天我们来学习make out

1 make out  (费力地) 看出; 听出

( If you make something out, you manage with difficulty to see or hear it.)

·  I could just make out a tall, pale, shadowy figure tramping through the undergrowth. （建议用在人物类话题，如teenager）
 我只能看出一个高高的、苍白的、朦胧的人影穿行在矮灌木丛中。

·  She thought she heard a name. She couldn't make it out, though. 
 她以为自己听到了一个名字，但听不清楚。（建议用在teacher话题）

I can't make out your handwriting. 我看不清你写的字。  （建议用在letter话题）

2 make out 理解; 辨清 ( If you try to make something out, you try to understand it or decide whether or not it is true. )

·  I couldn't make it out at all. =I couldn't understand it.    (建议用在数学课学到的技能这个话题)
 我完全不能明白它。

·  It is hard to make out what criteria are used. 
 难以辨清使用了什么标准。

· Half awakened by her words, I felt my heart sink within me, but could not make out what had happened.    （建议用在改变的计划话题）

她的话使我差不多清醒了，我觉得我的心发沉，但不明白发生了什么事。

3 make out 证明; 竭力说 (If you make out that something is the case or make something out to be the case, you try to cause people to believe that it is the case. )

·  They were trying to make out that I'd actually done it. 
 他们在试图证明我确实做了那件事。（建议用在teacher话题）

·  I don't think it was as glorious as everybody made it out to be. 
 我认为这不像大家说的那样了不起。

4 make out 填写完  (When you make out a cheque, receipt, or order form, you write all the necessary information on it. )

·  I'll make the cheque out to you and put it in the post this afternoon. 
 我会给你写一张支票并于今天下午邮寄给你。（建议用在complaint这个话题）
