【原】瘤玉球属Thelocactus的仙人球你认识几个？

一说到瘤玉球属的植物，很多人脑海中首先浮现的就是大红鹰，绯冠龙等经典品种，那有人知道瘤玉球属的起源是什么吗？

第一个出现在欧洲的瘤玉球属的植物是Thelocactus leucacanthus，它是由卡尔文斯基在Zimapán附近发现的，并在1830年左右被送到München植物园。

当时，它被归为金琥属Echinocactus，多年后，K. Schumann在他的著作中提出了Thelocactus，在这本书中，K. Schumann列举了一系列物种，它们都有一个共同的特征，那就是它们的茎被分成了多个小结节（也就是我们常说的疣突，也可以叫瘤），因此才有了“locactus”这个名字（“thele”在希腊语中是乳头的意思）。
