摄影历经时间洗礼,其发展与技术工艺的推进密切相关,尤其在摄影术诞生的第一个百年内,从1839年到19世纪80年代,可以说是摄影技术发展的辉煌时期,其工艺技术层出不穷。这种既保持神秘又略显陌生的老方法成为了当代摄影创新的一道解救灵光。此次展览将邀请古典摄影工艺与当代影像艺术家共同展出,跨越时间与地域共同呼应对于摄影语言的延续。

Photography has gone through the baptism of time, and its development is closely related to the advancement of technology, especially in the first hundred years of the birth of photography, from 1839 to the 1880s, can be said to be the glorious period of the development of photography technology, its technology emerged in endlessly. This old method, at once mysterious and slightly alien, has been the salvation of contemporary photographic innovation. The works of the artists in this exhibition will be exhibited together with classical photographic techniques, contemporary digital images and comprehensive materials, echoing the continuation of today's photographic language across time and region.

【前言】

摄影作为艺术创作的媒介之一,其多维度的思考和综合材料的应用是当代艺术家、评论家、策展人关注的主题。当代摄影作品所涉及的媒介,技法、围绕着不同的论题,在创作者的思维和细致的观察之间找到了一个恰如其分的平衡点,建立由艺术家、社会和观者调动起来的多因素交错的诠释。回顾自1839年启始的世界摄影史,人类社会和艺术家从来没有停止过对于摄影的探索,而“回到未来”这个题目出自于我与蔡萌老师的一次交谈:在后摄影时代的今天,未来摄影的发展将会以何种面貌呈现?思考和发现摄影的未来,是不是也可以从溯源摄影开始?   
沈阳摄影周是由沈阳市文化旅游和广播电视局在沈阳艺术节期间主办的一个艺术项目,摄影周分为两部分,一部分是由我和蔡萌共同策划的摄影展。在这个展览中,艺术家们去跨越摄影语言的边界,无论是古已有之的绘画,还是在过去几十年间广受关注的动态影像、装置,或者是依赖于最新科学技术发展的数字媒介,参展的艺术家将传统的工艺与摄影新语言重新注入到创作当中,探索和思考视觉形式的多样性并以摄影的方式呈现出来,作品中的线索和隐喻在不同主题下,当代的语境中,呈现出最大程度上的美学关怀。
摄影周的另一部分是由华晨宝马发起的乐享沈阳影集项目。这部分内容是由艺术指导张林峰先生与鲁迅美术学院的学生共同完成的,沈阳是个有故事的城市,随着时间的推移,时代的变革,每一次的“转变”都在塑造着沈阳的性格。作为一个外来者,他以一个陌生人的视角,以影像的方式寻觅、探索,追溯这里的故事。整个项目以沈阳工业作为主线,聚焦于工人,记录过去以及现在发生的人与事。

Photography as one of the media of artistic creation, its multi-dimensional thinking and the application of comprehensive materials is the subject of concern of contemporary artists, critics and curators. Contemporary photography works involve different media, techniques and topics, and find a proper balance between the creator's thinking and careful observation to establish a multi-factor interpretation mobilized by the artist, society and the viewer. Looking back at the history of world photography since 1839, human society and artists have never stopped exploring photography. The title 'Back to the Future' comes from a conversation with Professor CAI Meng: In the post-photography era, what will the development of photography in the future? To think and discover the future of photography, can we also start from the origin of photography?
 
Shenyang Photography Week is an art project sponsored by Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television during the Shenyang Art Festival. The photography week have two parts, one is the photography exhibition by CAI Meng and ME. In this exhibition, the artists have to across the boundary of the photographic language, whether it is an paintings, or received widespread attention in the past few decades dynamic images, installations, or is dependent on the latest science and technology development of digital media, the traditional craft and the art of photography back into the creation of a new language, Exploring and thinking about the diversity of visual forms and presenting them in a photographic way, the clues and metaphors in the works show maximum aesthetic concern under different themes and in contemporary contexts.

Another part of the photo week is the Enjoy Shenyang Photobook Collection project sponsored by BMW Brilliance Automotive. This part by art director Mr. Zhang Linfeng and students of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. Shenyang is a city with rich stories. With the passage of time and the changes of The Times, each 'change' is shaping shenyang's character. As an outsider, he searched, explored and traced the story of this place in the way of images from the perspective of a stranger. The project takes Shenyang industry as the main line, focusing on the workers, documenting the past and the present.

曾获得第二十八届国展艺术类评委会推荐奖,第十二届三影堂摄影奖骆伯年优秀摄影师奖,2017中国摄影年度排行榜,美国IPA摄影奖,中国TOP20摄影新锐,美国PDN摄影奖,中国首届青年摄影大展评委会推荐奖,法国才华摄影基金肖像类冠军等多个奖项。作品被中央美院美术馆、三影堂摄影艺术中心、法国国家图书馆、成都当代影像馆等多家美术馆机构和个人收藏。
被邀任教于北京电影学院、清湖大学美术学院、三影堂摄影艺术中心、国家艺术基金等众多顶级院校和机构。
目前生活和工作在北京。

Doctor of Photography, Central Academy of Fine Arts
She received her bachelor's degree from Beijing Film Academy and her master's and doctor's degree from Central Academy of Fine Arts.
The first practitioner in China to use wet fire glue black glass plate technology for artistic creation.
Won a 28th both art academy here, the 12th three shadows photography award for the best photographer LuoBo years, 2017 China's annual list of photography, the IPA cinematography, new China TOP20 photography, the PDN photography, the first China youth photography festival jury here, French talent fund portrait photography class title, and many other awards. His works have been collected by many art museums and individuals, such as the Central Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum, Three Shadows Photography Art Center, The National Library of France, Chengdu Museum of Contemporary Photography and so on.
He has been invited to teach in Beijing Film Academy, Qinghu University Academy of Fine Arts, Three Shadows Photography Art Center, National Art Fund and many other top universities and institutions.
Currently lives and works in Beijing.

作品阐释:
寻找故去的中国,在仿造与伪装之间迂回前进。通过古诗词的形式暗示可识别的信息,图像持续地被语言“纠绊”。多种早期摄影术工艺材料的应用,探寻不同时期材料对影像呈现的影响。
将真实的表面与暗示性的语言场景纠缠到一起,模糊时间性,通过不同时代拍摄的风格和观看方式的改变探讨当代的视觉语境。踏上先贤踪迹,瞥见当下寻常。

Interpretation of works:
In search of the China of the past, zigzagging between imitation and disguise. Images are continually 'caught up' in language by suggesting recognisable information in the form of ancient poetry. The application of a variety of early photographic process materials to explore the impact of materials in different periods on image presentation.
Intertwine the real surface with the suggestive language scenes, blur the timeliness, and explore the contemporary visual context through the changes of shooting styles and viewing modes in different times. Step on the trail of sages, catch a glimpse of the ordinary.

Wang Qingsong

1993年毕业于四川美术学院,1993年至今生活工作在北京,于1996年开始影像创作。在国内外诸多美术馆和画廊举办过40多个个展,参加过光州双年展、台北双年展、悉尼双年展、上海双年展、威尼斯双年展、伊斯坦布尔双年展、基辅双年展等多个国际双年展。2019在武汉合美术馆及韩国首尔摄影美术馆举办个展。2006年获得Outreach Award in Rencontres de le Photographie,法国阿尔勒杰出摄影奖。曾组织策划长江国际影像双年展及成都“金熊猫摄影艺术奖”等展览,现担任成都当代影像馆艺术总监。
作品被美国纽约国际摄影中心、纽约现代美术馆、盖蒂美术馆、旧金山现代美术馆、澳大利亚昆士兰美术馆、日本森美术馆、水户当代美术馆、巴西国家美术馆、法国巴黎欧洲摄影中心、奥地利MUMOK美术馆、澳大利亚维多利亚国家美术馆、英国维多利亚阿尔伯特美术馆、韩国大邱美术馆、中央美术学院美术馆、广东美术馆、湖北美术馆等60多家公立美术馆收藏。

Graduated from Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1993, Wang Qingsong has lived and worked in Beijing since then.
 
'Wang Qingsong’s staged photographs are vehicles for incisive, witty commentary on economic expansion, social tension, and rising Western influence in contemporary China. His work has been compared to that of Andreas Gursky and Gregory Crewdson due to similar aesthetics and photographic techniques, but Wang’s subject matter is his own, stemming from observations of, and concern for, the future of Chinese society. Images such as Competition (2004), a photograph of a stage set exhaustively plastered in corporate posters, and Follow me (2003), which depicts Wang sitting in front of a huge chalkboard covered with words that refer to the recent contemporary art boom,are resplendent with detail and references to history, popular culture, and Western art, rewarding close looking with a fuller picture of his ironic, deft touch.'

He has more than forty solo shows in the museums and galleries at home and abroad. He participated in Taipei Biennial (1998), Gwangju Biennale (2000), Shanghai Biennale (2008), Sydney Biennale (2010), Kiev International Biennial and etc (2012), Venice Biennale China Pavilion (2013), Istanbul Biennial (2013).
 
In 2020, he had his solo show with new installation and around 25 works in two galleries at Beijing Tang Contemporary Art Center. In 2019, his solo shows were held in Wuhan United Art Museum and the Museum of Photography Seoul, Korea. In 2006, he was honored the Outreach Award in Rencontres de la Photographie, Arles, France.
 
His artworks have been collected by more than sixty public art museums including the Museum of Modern Art (USA), Getty Museum (USA), San Francisco Museum of Art (USA), Galerie of Modern Art (Australia), Art Tower Mito (Japan), Museum of European Photography (France), MUMOK (Austria), National Gallery of Australia, Victoria and Albert Museum (UK), Daegu Art Museum (Korea), the Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum (China), Guangdong Art Museum, and etc.
 
As one of the chief curators, he has curated the first two editions of Changjiang International Photography and Video Biennale in Chongqing. Now he is the artistic director for Chengdu Contemporary Image Museum, organizing exhibitions of both established and young artists from the world.

作品阐释:
2019年底左右,疫情在中国武汉爆发,并迅速蔓延至全球。它打破了我们的生活和工作常规。一开始,我只是想练书法,我选择了一些我曾经写过的廉价广告纸,潦草地写下了这些年收集的一些品牌和他们的广告。当我意识到这场疫情短期内不会结束时,我开始更认真、更整洁地写作,想以一种新的方式完成这件看似简单、似乎仅仅涉及时间、只和写有关的作品。
完成这件作品实际上并不像2004年的《大摆战场》和2009年的《大败战场》那么容易。这次我不是仅仅写书法,而是把每一个字用心的描画出来,每个字和logo都认真描摹无数遍,一遍又一遍,一层又一层地画,画得更清晰、更细致。四个月内,总共做了大约400张广告纸。
《问它》是2020年的新作,总结了过去的许多谜题,将前期的几件作品融合成一股新的力量。在形式和内容上,这部新作融合了2004年的《大摆战场》、2009年《大败战场》以及2014年《同一个世界,同一个梦想》中反复出现的广告和文字元素,强化了消费主义的荒诞奇观,这也是这些年我创作的核心主题。从语义上讲,这个大大的问号揭示了我个人对过去几十年经济发展希望建立的愿景的怀疑。

Interpretation of works:
Around the end of 2019, the pandemic erupted in Wuhan, China and quickly spread out to the world. It breaks down everyone’s life and work routine. At the beginning, I just wanted to practice calligraphy. I chose some cheap advertising paper I used to write and scribbled some brands and advertisement slogans collected over these years. When I realized that this pandemic would not be over within a short period of time, I began to write in a neater manner, thinking of a new way to present this production process of the work, instead of just writing in a lapse of time.
 
“Question a Brick Wall”, unlike “Competition” in 2004 or “Debacle” in 2009, involves more painting in greater detail. I am not only sharpening my calligraphy skill, but also painting with all my heart onto each stroke of the word and each depiction of the logo. Layer over layover, over and over again, I spend about four months to finish only 400 pieces of paper. 
“Question a Brick Wall” is a new work in 2020 which summarizes the past puzzles and merges the previous seminal works into a new force. In terms of form and content, this new work fuses a great many of repeatedly populated ads, words, letters and logos one sees in my previous works  such as “Competition” in 2004,  “Debacle” in 2009 and “One World, One Dream” in 2014, thereby continuing my suspicion about consumer culture and its spectacles. Semantically, the large question mark in the work reveals a doubt about the vision that has been expected to arise after decades of economic development.

”Space & City” was awarded in Sony World Photography Awards 2017 with Gold Award in Professional Architecture Category, and was exhibited at Somerset Palace in London.
”Space & City” was showed at Pingyao International Photography Festival, Lianzhou International Photography Festival and Shenzhen International Photography Festival.
“Industry & Scenery” was exhibited at 2018 China International Photographic Art Festival.

作品阐释:
创作的主要想法来自于对南美厄瓜多尔著名画家瓜亚萨明绘画作品的喜爱和崇拜。画家以人物刻画为主,受西方表现主义立体主义风格影响,在人物造型动势上变形的非常夸张大胆 ,画家有“活着的毕加索之称”。
我在创作时在被摄主体上的刻画借鉴了瓜亚萨明在人物表现上的风格,沉思 平静 祈求 愤怒 温柔 等不同情绪的表达都和画家的绘画作品有一致性,从而产生共鸣。
人都是孤独的,我们也可以成为像瓜亚萨明孤独的斗士一样,同世界的苦难抗衡,同自己内心抗衡 ,来寻求和平安稳的世界。

Interpretation of works:
Love and loneliness - Tribute to Osualdo Guayasamin
The main idea of creation comes from the love and worship of Osualdo Guayasamin, a famous Ecuadorian painter in South America. Guayasamin is mainly characterized by characters, influenced by western expressionism Cubism style, and he is very exaggerated and bold in the movement of figure modeling. He is known as the 'living Picasso'.
In my creation, I used Guayasamin's character expression style for reference. All kinds of emotions, such as meditation, calm, prayer, anger, tenderness, are consistent with the his paintings and resonate with him.
People are all lonely, and we can also be like Guayasamin, a lonely fighter, fighting against the suffering of the world and against our own heart to seek a peaceful and stable world.

作品阐释:
“松”拍摄于沈阳的清代福陵和昭陵,此系列作品和中国的传统文化有关,和时间有关,也和我的年龄感受有关。历代文人墨客多以松为抒发胸怀的题材,其正直、朴素和坚强的内在品质为人们所称赞。对拍摄和作品来说,这是重要的主观准备。现在回头看,在可见的日常生活记录中,逐渐出现了一条明晰的与此平行的内在的轨迹。它在反映现实的同时,似乎也很偏得地完成了一个精神情感层面的“记录”。

Interpretation of works:
'Pine' was taken at the Fuling and Zhaolings of the Qing Dynasty in Shenyang. This series of works is related to Chinese traditional culture, time, and my age. Literati and writers of the past dynasties have used pine as their theme for expressing their minds, and their inner qualities of integrity, simplicity and strength are praised by people. For shooting and works, this is an important subjective preparation. Looking back now, in the visible daily life records, a clear inner track parallel to this gradually appeared. While it reflects reality, it also seems to have completed a spiritual and emotional 'record'.

Song Zhuoran

1982年出生于沈阳,毕业于法国利摩日-奥比松国立高等美术学院,获得法国高等实验造型艺术硕士学位。
现工作于辽宁美术馆策展人,艺术家,以策展人的身份曾独立策划几十场国内外艺术展览,2017年获得文化部艺术司15位青年策展人扶持计划之一。以艺术家的身份参加国内外的艺术展览,学术研讨活动。作品获得省级摄影展铜奖,省十佳青年摄影师,作品被国内外众多美术馆及艺术机构及私人收藏。

Zhuoran Song was Born in 1982, live in Shenyang. she graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts of Limoges, France, in master's degree.
She has been working as a curator and work for LiaoNing Art Museum. At same time, she is an artist, a curator, a founder of JOLIE Art Museum. she has independently planned dozens of domestic and foreign art exhibitions in the past 10 year. In 2017, she was in one of the 15 Young Curators Support Program by the national Art Department of the Culture Ministry .
Zhuoran Song’s art works has been in art exhibitions and academic seminars both here and abroad. Her works won the bronze prize of the provincial photography exhibition, Top ten young photographers in Province of LiaoNing. collected by many art museums, art institutions and private collectors in china and abroad.

作品阐释:
本系列作品在创作的观念上延伸去年的《X》系列的思考内容与主题。
其中对于生命的思考更趋于理性,作品呈现了克制的表达,和对生命的不确定性的捕捉。对于蓝晒这一古老的印相工艺,新的系列与旧作视觉呈现的不同之处在于:蓝晒延伸工艺-湿版蓝晒与蓝晒叠加化学显影法的实践探索丰富了作品的视觉语言与视觉符号的多维度表达,画面层次也因为注入了新的表达技法,更显流动和神秘,诠释了间接的隐喻与感受。作品名称《雕刻时光》来自我喜欢的导演塔可夫斯基的书名,我将塔科夫斯基的电影中那富有诗意的流动感和神秘气息带入到我的作品中,在逐渐加入的叙事方式和情感记忆中讲述女性对于生命的感受。

Interpretation of works:
I have carried out more exploration and practice on the basis of the traditional cyanotype. This series is a continuation the series 《X》in last year. That series of works is more rational and restrained to express the uncertainty of life. I hope to have more metaphorical feelings and richer visual levels in these works . 《sculpting in time》 is a book by one of my favorite directors Tarkovsky. I bring the poetic flow and mystery in Tarkovsky's films into my works, and then gradually add my own narrative style and emotional memory.

在如今全球化经济的背景下,大量的消费品通过交通运输送达到不同的地方,供给人们使用与消费。但在媒体报道中,时常可见满载货物的卡车倾翻在高速路上,瞬间大量的物品倾泻而下,堆满了路面,形成了一种奇特的景观。

Interpretation of works:
In the context of globalized economy, a large number of goods are delivered to different places through transportation for people to use and consume. However, in media reports, it is often seen that trucks loaded with goods overturn on the highway, and massive goods are poured down instantly, piled up on the road, forming a strange landscape.

1972 年出生于辽宁省宽甸县,1995 年毕业于鲁迅美术学院摄影系,现工作生活在北京。王宁德的早期创作主要以摄影为媒介,近年来作品逐渐涉及到装置及其他艺术类型,并以当代艺术为背景,研究影像的语言和本质等前沿问题。他用多种形式拓展了影像艺术的语言边界, 同时描绘了对当下更微妙的主观感受。

Born in 1972 in Kuandian County, Liaoning Province, he graduated from the Department of Photography of LuXun Academy of Fine Arts in 1995. Now lives and works in Beijing.

Wang ningde's early works is photography. In recent years, his works have gradually involved installation and other art types, and he studies cutting-edge issues such as the language and nature of images against the background of contemporary art. He uses various forms to expand the linguistic boundaries of photo art, while depicting a more subtle subjective feeling.

作品阐释:
《反转》首先用丙烯描摹了照片的边缘和图像等高线,再将银箔置放与相应的画面中,最后用感光乳剂直接在明室里覆盖,经过显影和定影,形成最后的作品。
该系列与《无限填充》系列是同期创作的,将矢量的影子图像用银箔提示出来,同时将图像用感光乳剂覆盖,这如同将阴影和受光面反转过来。银箔部分是光亮的影子,黑色乳剂是隐匿的图像。
被曝光乳剂覆盖的图像来自于2017年一次穿越美国的旅行快照,这次旅行既针对影响自己的现当代艺术史,也探讨历年来传输到中国的美国文化碎片,图像既有对登月博物馆和飞机墓地的探访记录,也有66号公路的交叉口,亚利桑那州的荒野,爵士乐和摇滚乐、越战和华尔街的图像等高线被无分别的凸显在曝光的乳剂之下,这个过程如同描摹和袒露了一段个人文化史,也用如此的“黑暗影像”呈现了一种观察和反思。

Interpretation of works:
Reversal works start with tracing the edges and image contours of a photo with acrylic. Silver foil is applied to predetermined areas, and then photosensitive emulsion is applied to the whole surface directly in a bright room. Finally, the works are developed and fixed.
This series was created during the same period as the Infinite Fill works. In the Reversal works, silver foil is used to form and highlight vectorized shadow imagery, and at the same time photosensitive emulsion is employed to cover over the entire image, as if reversing the shadowed and lit areas. The silver foil patterns are bright shadows, and the surface covered by the black emulsion is a hidden image.
The photographs covered by photographic emulsion were chosen from snapshots taken during a trip I made through the United States in 2017. This trip was not only aimed at reviewing the history of modern and contemporary art that has affected me personally, but also exploring some of the fragments of American culture that have been regularly transmitted to China over the years. The images include records of visits to a space museum and an aircraft cemetery, an intersection of Route 66, views of Arizona's wilderness, jazz and rock music events, Vietnam War memorials, Wall Street and more. The contours of these photographs are delineated with little variation under the exposed emulsion. This process is comparable to tracing and revealing a personal cultural history, and presents some resulting observations and reflections in the form of these “dark images.”

我不停地从一个城市迁移到另一个城市。我扔掉所有的东西,唯独离不开厕所和床。我的身体在其中停歇忙碌,我的爱情死了又生,我的梦似乎消失。
我躺在外乡的床上,看着空荡荡的房间,没有风景;我坐在陌生的椅子上,想象着外面的爱情,没有感觉;我站在模糊的镜子前,抚摸着她的眼睛,没有回应。

Interpretation of works:
I keep moving from one city to another.  I throw away everything except the toilet and bed.  My body is resting and busy in it, my love is dead and reborn, and my dream seems to disappear.
I lay on a bed in a foreign country, looking at an empty room with no scenery; I sat on a strange chair, imagining the love outside, without feeling; I stood in front of a fuzzy mirror, stroking her eyes, without responding.

作品阐释:
手机摄影时代的到来使我们的拍照成本大幅降低,可能我们每个人拿出手机打开相册都会发现相册里的照片有上千张之多。当我每年去整理这些照片的时候,发现这些照片像是一个记忆的链条,于是我将其中一段经历中的影像(比如旅行),或是一些场景类似的影像(比如家庭合影)叠加在一起形成一种新的形象,模糊的影像如同记忆一样越来越模糊,也为回忆提供了一种新的方式。

Interpretation of works:
The advent of cell phone photography era has dramatically reduced the cost of taking photos, there are thousands of photos in our cellphone albums. When I go to organize these photos annually, I found a memory chain in a large amount of photos when these photos are being categorize. I picked up a certain period of photos for example a period of travelling photos, or a series of similar scenario like family photograph, and put those photos in a vertical way, these overlay photograph became a new image, the fuzzy images is more like our memory fading away, which also provides a new possibility of memory.

Studied finance in college, then worked as graphic designer after graduation and focused on photography in spare time. Most of his works are based on gelatin silver materials. He was awarded as the Chinese TOP20 Cutting-edge Photographers in 2011, and the group photo 'Yesterday also Faraway' won the Excellent Photographer award of  the 2017 Pingyao International Photography Exhibition. 作品阐释:
手里的相机用了二十多年了,我早已分不清每次旅行是为了用它拍照还是用它拍照是为了记录旅行。很有趣的是每次出门无论时间长短或者距离远近,总能遇到几次好机会,我如果抓住了就会得到几张不错的照片。当然我说的是“照片”,因为只有能捧在手里的照片对我才有意义。对我而言,这些照片里的世界更加温和、诚恳、深邃。

Interpretation of works:
The camera in my hands has been staying with me for more than twenty years. Go travelling to photo with him, or just photo to record our journey? I have long been unable to tell apart. Interestingly, every time I go out, no matter how far or how long, I can always encounter some good chances. And if I grab the chance luckily, I will surely get several excellent photographs. Look, I am talking about 'photographs', only those can be hold in my hands are meaningful. For me,  the world presented in the photographs is milder, purer and deeper.

Dan Xu,Born in Shenyang in 1978, now is a Lecture in the Photography Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. She Graduated from Photography Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 2003, and then worked for Shanghai JieFang Daily Group. In 2007, she applied to San Francisco Art Institute and majored in mix media photography. The main research direction is: alternative process, mix media, gel transfer technology and pinhole camera production and shooting. 作品阐释:
“声闻于野” 是一组以明胶银盐相纸为媒材,以物影印相法为手段的美学型摄影作品。它采用古典工艺的光绘成像法(photogenic drawing;1839年工艺),运用无相机摄影(camera less photography)-物影印相(photogram)的摄影手段,拍摄的主体则为秋季自然界中的野生植物。在经历盛夏的繁茂生长后,秋季的植物开始呈现出枯萎和损失的样貌;自然界中食物链的规则,使植物叶片也出现了被虫咬的自然生存痕迹。基于对植物在物像细节表现的追求及摄影这一媒介与现实紧密相连的特质,在媒材和制作手段的选择上,直接印相这一手法让客观主体与摄影行为最为紧密相连。长达6-8个小时的曝光时间中,植物主体在光的作用下,在明胶银盐相纸留下了肉眼可见的影像,同时植物自身的汁液、碎屑、植物绒毛等也在物影印晒的过程中在相纸上留下了痕迹,丰富了影像的质感和细节。对于野生植物,古老的光绘法在现代的感光材料明胶银盐相纸上呈现了一种新的观看角度和视野:让时间曝光,进而描述并切割时间,最终让摄影与现实紧密相连。

Interpretation of works:
'Sound in the wild' is a series of aesthetic photographic works, that achieve images with a light drawing method that is an alternative process from 19th.  The subjects are wild plants in midsummer, When it comes to autumn all plans began to wither and lose; at the same time plants leave appear to be bitten by insects which is a rules of food chain in nature. Based on the camera less technique, that makes the objective subject most closely connected with photography. In the exposure time of 6-8 hours, the plants, the leaves are visible clearly on the silver gelatin paper. Mean while, the juice, debris and villi from the plants also leave traces on the photo paper, which enriches the texture and details of the image. Wild plants present a new visual effect in an unexpected way, which is in the aesthetic of freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese painting.

鲁迅美术学院副教授,硕士研究生导师,工作生活于沈阳。研究生毕业于鲁迅美术学院。摄影馆系列丛书《杰夫·沃尔》作者。理论研究主要涉及视觉的阅读、视觉语言研究;艺术实践主要涉及古典工艺等。

Majors of Photography in master degree. Associate Professor of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts and postgraduate tutor. She lives and works in Shenyang.  She has compile write the Studio series Jeff Wall. In theoretical, she has beening research mainly involves visual reading and visual language. Her art works are mainly involves historical process to create conceptual ideas.

有关石头的文化是中国传统文化中非常重要的一支。中国石文化中既有其实用性的一面,也有其精神需求的一面。对石头的使用、观察和表现,无不包裹着中国传统文化的内涵,因此石头可算是中国传统文化的一种表征。作品中的石头与树木根部共生多年,将其从土壤中挖掘出来,石头的表面若隐若现着树木的根须,很像某一文化被慢慢滋养的样子。

Interpretation of works:
Stone culture is a very important part of Chinese traditional culture. In Chinese culture stone presents both material and spiritual aspect. The use, observation and expression of stone are all include of traditional Chinese culture. The stone in this photo, that has been inter-grown with tree’s roots for many years.When it has been excavated from the soil, the surface of the stone is vaguely covered with roots , which represents culture is being nurtured in time.

男,1973年出生
鲁迅美术学院教授,院学术委员会成员,实验艺术系主任,主要从事当代艺术创作和教学研究工作,从2003年开始多次参与国外交流项目,至今举办包括宝龙美术馆《M花园》在内的8次个展,并多次参加包括《库里蒂巴双年展》在内的国内外展览,先后主持参与包括“海外人才培养”在内的6项科研课题,先后出版《生态剧场下的生态思维研究》等三部专著及教材,2012年-2013年参加中央美院袁运生先生主持的《重建中国高等美术教育体系基础教学高研班》2009年9月作为“特邀艺术家”参加挪威培尔.金特国际艺术节,作品被巴西尼迈耶博物馆,德国沃尔特公司,鲁迅美术学院美术馆及前挪威文化部长等国内外多家机构及个人收藏。

Male, born in 1973, professor at LuXun Academy of Fine Arts, member of academic board, Dean of Department of Experimental Art, works on artistic creation and teaching research. Zhang has participated in many international exchange projects abroad since 2003. So far, he has held 8 exhibitions, including M Garden at Powerlong Museum, and taken part in international exhibitions both at home and abroad for many times, including Curitiba International Biennale of Contemporary Art. Zhang has hosted 6 research projects, including “Overseas Talents Cultivation”, and published 3 monographs and textbooks, including Study on Biological Research in Biological Theatre. Zhang has attended Yuan Yunsheng’s class named Basic Teaching Advanced Research Class for Reconstruction of Chinese Higher Education System of Art. In September, 2009, Zhang, as specially-invited artist, attended the Peer Gynt festival in Vinstra, Norway, and his works have been collected by many institutions and individuals, such as Museo Niemeyer, Brazil, Walter GMBH, Art Gallery of LuXun Academy of Fine Arts, Minister of Culture of Norway.

我们思考的源点来源于我们计算机不断改变的环境,这个时代是电子智能,娱乐,信息大量涌入的时代,混杂着个体经验、精神价值、生活方式构成了自生长的文化生态共同体。作品体现了电磁波下人、动物、信息符号等万物相互依存,影响,互相纠缠与共生的状态。构成有不同感知点的立体网络, 时间,生命,存在,偶然与必然在网络中变化着,我们不断在捕捉、寻找变化背后的意义。

Interpretation of works:
The origin of our thoughts come from the environmental changes caused by computers constantly. In an era of electronic intelligence, entertainment, and information explosion, the life style, mixed with individual experiences and spiritual value, has developed into a self-growing cultural ecological community. The works demonstrates the symbiotic state of the mutual dependence, influence and interrelation of humans, animals and information signals within electromagnetic wave. A three-dimensional network with different perceptual points has been constructed, in which time, life, existence, chance and necessity are changing, and we are in a constant pursuit of its connotation.

Shenyang, well known as a major Chinese traditional industrial base and the center of Northeast China, also has profound combination cultures which uniquely feature Northeast region and Manchurian colors of  Qing dynasty.

BBA(BMW Brilliance Automotive) chose Shenyang as its production location to expand its automotive blueprint with good reasons. BBA would like to share this experience and invite you to get into a closer touch and look of Shenyang by inviting young artists from LAFA(Shenyang Luxun Academy of Fine Art)to launch and develop this photograph project, express the enthusiasm and showcase this dynamic and charming city to the viewers.

The young LAFA artists sensitively capture the sights of Shenyang in a broad range of context and various angles of view to guide you through Shenyang-history and now, tradition and modernism, local life of local people VS expats life mingled in the pulse of the city in artistic perspectives which is quite different from average travelogue and tour guide album which you can usually and easily see in the market or bookstore. This is a fresh interesting and inspiring experiment to depict and tell the stories of Shenyang by observation and creation of ten young photograph artists.

Let’s embrace the visual journey and discover the charms of Shenyang!
