that引导定语从句，在从句中作主语

本名言两句都是复合句。第一句，主句为主系表结构，主语是并列的三个名词：spirit, will, will，两个will后接动词不定式作同位语，说明will的内容。表语the things后接that引导的定语从句。第二句也是主系表结构，后接than引导的比较状语，其后接that引导的定语从句。前后两个定语从句中，关系代词that都作主语。

that引导定语从句，在从句中可以担任主语，此时that不可省略。
