The average daily death rate from the coronavirus in the U.S. isn't declining steeply, but internet-user interest in COVID-19 related topics is. People in the U.S. searching and sharing COVID-19 news on the internet peaked March 15, according to Google Trends, and has trickled down almost 96%.

就这么一段短短的“原版英语”，按照中文提示你似乎用中文“读懂”。但是，这能说明你的英语阅读能力过关了吗？

你的“英语阅读”是用来从中“提取中文信息”，还是用来训练自己的英语“运用能力”，训练自己说”英语的能力？

可能这是你从来没有仔细思考过的问题。

二、英语阅读是给你“用”英语的机会和锻炼

在你“用”中文“读懂”的同时，我的“英语阅读”是这样的(省略了其中逐一查阅英英字典的过程)。

会“翻译”death rate的中文“死亡率”，不会说它的英语，算是什么“英语阅读”呢？读一万篇最后还是“哑巴英语”。

If somethung is declining steeply,we can also say it drops sharply,it decreases greatly.

英语阅读是训练和检测我们“复现”已学英语的能力，不是英译汉能力。后者你没问题，前者肯定大学本科甚至研究生毕业都做不到。

4) but internet-user interest in COVID-19 related topics is

1.internet-user means people who use the Internet

2. COVID-19 means the pandemic,or the coronavius

很多人见到英语CIVID-19“能说”中文“新冠肺炎”，让他“说”英语the pandemic,coronvius就比登天还难了。可是，见到这两个英语单词他们又会说：我认识呀！认识不会用，不能用，有什么用？

5) People in the U.S. searching and sharing COVID-19 news on the internet

1.When we search the Internet for something,we look for it.

2.When we share something,we pass it from person to person.

把share翻译成中文是“容易”的，“翻译”成上面的英语就不见得了。可是，我们以为能英译汉就是“英语阅读”了。

Something peaks means it reaches the highest point

the highest point写出来“懂”吧？让你用也“能用”吗？这才是问题。

7) and has trickled down almost 96%.

To trickle up or down means go up or go down three times more or less than it was.

无效的英语阅读是读得再多都等于白读的。我们所谓的“英语阅读”一直以来“误导”了我们多长时间，该改变了，如果你不想让你的“英语阅读”把你最终变成“哑巴英语”的话。
