eg. 

       It is a little cold today.

2. +[U].           a little=a bit of

eg.

       There is a little food in the fridge.

       There is a bit of food in the fridge.

3. 变否定,  +adj.

not a little ↔ not a bit

eg.

        It is not a little cold today.

      = It is very cold today.

        It is not a bit cold today. 

      = It is not cold at all today.
