Artist Cesar Boetius van Everdingen was born in the Dutch city of Alkmaar, in 1616 or 1617 (the exact date is not known), in the family of lawyer Peter van Everdingen. The first teacher of painting by Caesar was a Dutch painter from the city of Utrecht, Jan Gerrit van Bronhorst. In 1632, sixteen-year-old Cesar Boetius van Everdingen became a member of the artists' guild of Alkmaar, and in 1655 he was elected dean of this guild.
Since 1640, the artist traveled to Europe, painted pictures and painted temples. In 1648 Caesar Boethius van Everdingen became a member of the Guild of Saint Luke in the city of Haarlem.
In 1658, the artist returned to his hometown, founded his own workshop, but three years later he left Alkmaar and settled in Amsterdam. The artist died in October 1678. Buried in his hometown.
