外企的英文e-mail沟通，有一些高频短语，看着单词很简单，都认识，实际却看不懂什么意思，或者不明白真正含义，熟悉而又陌生的表达。

看看下面这些短语，有让你尴尬或者费解过吗？

• on the same page

书面意思很简单，在同一个页面上，没有一个单词是不认识的。

外企沟通用到的意思是，达成共识, 意见一致，相同认知，也可以用 we are all aligned 来表达，但按英语母语的表达习惯，on the same page更能体现出来大家没有认知和想法上的偏差。

E.g. My purpose is to make sure the whole team are on the same page for the raw material choice, it’s fine for me to proceed with PC+ABS resin for the cosmetic parts.

翻译：我的目的是确保整个团队就原材料的选择已达成共识，我对外观件采用PC+ABS塑胶料没有意见。

E.g. The glossary should be shared with all vendors to ensure that everyone is on the same page.

翻译：应该把此术语表共享给所有的供应商，以确保所有人都对术语有共同认知。

• Apple to Apple Comparison

书面意思是苹果对苹果的比较，苹果和苹果有什么好比的，比什么？看不明白。

这个算是native speaker 的习语，外企要表达的意思是统一基准的比较，一般的习语不会频繁出现在书面沟通，但是这个确实高频，经常用到的场合为，针对产品设计和制程做了某一个方面的变更进行验证对比，但需要保证其他因素对这个对比不会产生影响，否则就不是统一基准的比较了。

E.g. Perform an apple to apple comparison.

翻译：做统一基准的比较。

E.g. Too many parameters are changed for the cross validation, it is not an apple to apple comparison.

翻译：这个交叉验证有太多参数变化，这不是一个统一基准的比较。

• Buy in

书面意思看就是买入的意思，在股市和期货市场意为买入平仓。

科技公司职场用到的意思是，同意，接受，延伸理解就是买你的账。

E.g. Regarding the large cost adder of the full inspection added, I do not think GSM will buy in.

翻译：关于增加全检而导致成本大幅上涨，我不认为GSM会同意。

GSM-Global Supply Manager 全球供应链经理，其实就是采购，Apple是这么叫，北美很多科技公司也是这样的称呼。

• Wrap up

书面意思是包起来，打包，在职场意为总结，小结。

开会的话，Wrap up meeting就是会议总结，也可以用close meeting.

活动的话，Wrap up activities就是活动总结。

会议或者活动Agenda 的最后一个部分，总结成果，决议和主要action, 这个阶段主要是领导发言，小伙伴们记得不要抢戏。

Weekly wrap up - 周总结

Monthly wrap up - 月度总结

• Warm Up

说到Wrap up, 就不能不提Warm up 了。

和书面意思差不多，就是暖场，热身，可延伸为理解为工作/活动准备。

会议或者活动Agenda 的第一个部分，正式开始前的10分钟左右时间，大家可以相互认识和寒暄，做一些最后的准备，主动点儿和不认识的人过去打个招呼，有一些人可能会晚几分钟，这也是个等待的理由。

• On the fence

书面意思是在篱笆墙上，实际意思是指犹豫不决，保持观望。

E.g. He is still on the fence for the final decision.

翻译：对于最终决定他依然犹豫不决

E.g. Due to the potential function failure risk at device level, Peter is still on the fence to buy in or reject the promising design change, although we really do not have schedule margin.

翻译：因为在整机潜在功能性实效风险，Peter 还在犹豫是否要导入这个很有希望的设计变更，虽然我们几乎没什么富裕时间。

• Low-hanging fruit

书面意思是很容易摘到的低层水果，这个延伸理解就是，容易实现的目标。

E.g. Most of the achievements are low-hanging fruit, moving forward, we have to address the issues critical to function before EVT build.

翻译：大分部成果都是很容易完成的，接下来我们必须把和功能性相关的问题在EVT之前就解决掉。

• Keep a close eye on

书面意思是保持眼睛盯着不动，延伸过来就是密切关注。

E.g. Please keep a close eye on the housing deformation issue, there is not much time left for us to fix it according to the schedule.

翻译：请密切关注外壳变形的问题，根据计划，没有太多时间留给我们解决了。
