The tool we are referring to is OneTable, a data consolidation tool developed by former Big Four consultants. This application helps users consolidate data including appending Excel/CSV tables,  support for inconsistently named headers, multi-level headers, etc. This software strongly competes with tools available including Excel Power Query, WPS, Alteryx, etc on the data consolidation front.

a. Different column names

In our work, we commonly find the headers in the data files to be very messy, including headers with different header titles, missing column headers, etc. Using Excel or WPS will require you to manually update the column headers yourself and we know this is a tedious process.

b. Multi-level headers

In our work, we may find the headers are multiple rows expressing the same meaning but input differently. In the situation above, software such as Excel Power Query, Alteryx, etc. is unable to (or with extremely difficulty) properly merge tables (append). This leaves us having to fix the table headings ourselves, which can be a long and tedious process.
