So I decided to do some research and found out that the city is most famous for old churches and cathedrals. Also, there is a little island off the coast of Marseille that houses a place called Château d'If which was a fortress and former prison that supposedly inspired Alexandre Dumas's adventure novel The Count of Monte Cristo which is also one of my all-time favorites.
So last time I decided to fly to Paris first then hopped on a train directly to Marseille. It took me about four hours to get there and I stayed for three days. I thought the sightseeing was decent but not fantastic because some part of the city felt a little dangerous and dirty. However, the seafood is quite amazing and locals are super friendly. So, I definitely had a great time.
