近期新冠疫苗的接种人数持续增加。美国已有超过5600万人完全接种COVID-19疫苗。然而，美国一些地区的病例再次上升，尤其是在密歇根州和东北部各州。但拜登政府首席医疗顾问安东尼·福奇(Anthony Fauci)博士预测，由于疫苗接种的增加，美国不会出现第四波冠状病毒像前三波那样严重。并在接受采访时表示疫苗将会赢得这场比赛。

More than 56 million people in the U.S. have now been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Yet cases are rising again in some parts of the country, notably in Michigan and states in the Northeast.

But Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Biden administration's chief medical adviser, predicts that the U.S. won't see a fourth wave of the coronavirus as severe as the previous three, thanks to the uptick in vaccinations.

"It's kind of like a race between the potential for a surge and our ability to vaccinate as many people as we possibly can," he says in an interview Friday with NPR's Morning Edition. "And hopefully, if you want to make this a metaphorical race, the vaccine is going to win this one."

上个月，美国雇主增加了91.6万名员工，招聘活动加速。这是8月份以来最大的就业增长，部分原因是公共卫生前景改善，以及新一轮1,400美元的救济金发放。

Hiring accelerated last month as U.S. employers added 916,000 workers to their payrolls. It was the largest job gain since August, fueled in part by an improving public health outlook and a new round of $1,400 relief payments.

拜登政府目前正在考虑另一项数万亿美元的基础设施计划，认为这是一项可以改变美国的法案:“一个在很长一段时间内都没有进行自我投资的国家。一个即将失去技术和经济优势的国家，被太平洋彼岸正在崛起的大国击败。”

Galston says it's a bill that could transform the country: "A country that has not invested in itself for a very long time. A country that is on the verge of losing its technological and economic superiority to the rising power at the other side of the Pacific."
