【原】广场上的每一面小白旗都代表着每一个曾经鲜活的生命

国庆假期看到的一则外刊新闻，多少有些心酸。通过标题不难看出这位摄影师着实花费了一番功夫。

To capture the scope of COVID's toll, this photographer spent 30 hours on one photo

为了捕捉新冠疫情造成的损失，这位摄影师在一张照片上花了30个小时。照片如下所示，版权归原作者Stephen Wilkes所有。

On September 18th and 19th, National Geographic Explorer Stephen Wilkes spent 30 consecutive hours on a lift at 45 feet in the air photographing a public installation on the National Mall, In America: Remember.

This installation by Suzanne Firstenberg comprises 670,000 white flags, each representing a life lost to COVID-19. Over the weekend, the U.S. breached the threshold of 700,000 lives lost. Wilkes implemented his renowned Day to Night photographing style in order to capture this image. This involved taking 4,882 photos over the course of 30 hours and blending them together for this final product. 

上面两段文字中，戳中我内心的是这样一组数据：由苏珊娜·弗斯滕伯格(Suzanne Firstenberg)设计的这个设施包括67万面白旗，每面白旗代表着因新冠肺炎而失去的生命。上周末，美国的死亡人数突破了70万人的门槛。

七十万绝不是小数目，这已经超过波士顿的人口数。此次活动中树立在美国国家广场上的每一面小白旗，都代表着一个因新冠而丧生的美国人。苍穹之下，大面积白色格外得刺目、扎心。瑟瑟秋风中，百余个“白旗方阵”飒飒有声，如语之戚戚。

I wanted to create a photograph that had those elements of that narrative storywise, but also was a photograph about hope and coming together. That's one of the beautiful things that the installation naturally does. Thousands of people come out and connect in a way and can reflect on our collective loss.

 我想要做的一张照片，它既有叙事的故事元素，又有希望的照片。这是这个艺术设施自然产生的美妙之处。成千上万的人出来，以某种方式联系，反思我们的集体损失。
