这一期我们来讲自我介绍里必备的第二个亮点

你考研的目的？

What is your purpose for applying?

老师面试学生的目的，不只是想知道这个学生对于他们学校提前做过多少研究，还希望多了解你对未来的看法和你的追求。

不要只说一些空泛、没有实际含义的句子。

“I have very good impression about your university. Many students want to go to your university, and I am no exception. You have many distinguished teachers. Your campus is extraordinary. Your university is one of the best universities in our country. I hope I can become an alumni.”

要讲得比较具体、有针对性。

a) “Initially, I planned to find a job after college. By pure chance, I stumbled upon an article on artificial neural networks by Professor …. This study covers an important breakthrough: artificial intelligence can significantly improve the well-being and performance of athletes. This greatly fascinated me, and I promptly decided to extend my studies and carve out a new path for myself.

b) “I have always known I will pursue a path in …. My obsession has led me to study many of Professor ...’s papers. In particular, his/her research on … matured/improved/deepened my understanding of .... The reason I sit before you is for the opportunity to continue developing my passion under his/her guidance.”
