「对话文本」

A: Those people in front of us are making so much noise. It’s so inconsiderate!

我们前面的这些人真是太吵闹了。真的不考虑别人！

B: Don’t worry about it; It’s not such a big deal.
别太在意。这不是什么大事情。 

A: Oh... I can’t hear a thing! Excuse me, can you keep it down?
噢。。。我听不清楚！不好意思，你们能小声点吗？ 

C: Sure, sorry about that!
当然，实在不好意思！ 

A: Someone’s phone is ringing!
有人电话响了！ 

B: Honey, I think it’s your phone. Did you forget to switch it off?
亲爱的，我想是你的电话。你是不是忘记调静音了呢？ 

A: Oh, no! You’re right. That’s so embarrassing!
哦，不！你是对的。这太尴尬了！
 

C: Do you mind keeping it down? I’m trying to watch a movie here!
能麻烦你小声点吗？我正在看电影呢！‍

「重要发音技巧」

辅元连读：辅音+元音
一般情况下, 前一个单词词尾为辅音，后一个单词开头为元音，这就要将辅音与元音拼起来连读。         

 

1. keeping it 连起来读 

文章中：Do you mind keeping it down? 

            能麻烦你小声点吗？

2. about it  连起来读 

文章中：Don’t worry about it.

            别太在意。

辅元连读：辅音+半元音
如果前一个词是以辅音结尾，后一个词是以半元音开头，此时也要连读。

3. did you    

文章中：Did you forget to switch it off?

            你是不是忘记调静音了呢？

希望大家读这段对话的时候注意这几个连读。

「核心单词掌握」

In today’s vocabulary preview, we have several words. And the first word is “inconsiderate”.
今天的词汇预览有几个词汇，第一个词是“不体贴的”。 

1. inconsiderate adj. [.ɪnkən'sɪdərət] 不为别人着想的；不体谅别人的；考虑不周的

Right. So, for example, yesterday I was on the subway and it was full.

好的，举个例子，昨天我在地铁上，上面挤满了人。

And an old lady was standing there and no one got up to give her their seats.

好的。一个老太太站在那里，没有人站起来给她让座。 

That was pretty inconsiderate.
真是太不体贴了。 

2. noise n. [nɔɪz] 噪声；噪音

例如：

"Don’t make so much noise." she said to the children.

她对孩子们说“别弄出那么大的噪音。” 。

3. embarrassing adj. [ɪmˈbærəsɪŋ] 使人害羞的（或难堪的、惭愧的）

例如：

It was embarrassing to Sam to meet her.

遇见她Sam总不免有些尴尬。

4. movie n. [ˈmuːvi] 电影

例如：

Movies give delight to millions of people.

电影使亿万人获得乐趣。

「实用口语表达」

This is our most important part for today’s lesson. And the first one today is "keep it down".

是我们今天课程最重要的单词。我们今天的第一个是小声点。

1. keep it down   小声点

例如：

Excuse me, do you mind keeping it down? It’s after midnight.

对不起，你能小声点吗？已经过了午夜了。

2. not such a big deal   没什么大不了

例如：

It’s okay. It’s not such a big deal.

没事的，没什么大不了的。 

Not a big problem.
问题不大。 

It’s not important.
事情不重要。

3. switch it off   关掉它

So, this word means to turn it off.

所以，这个词的意思是关掉它。

Now, we can use it in three different ways.

现在，我们可以用三种不同的方式来使用它。

First, you could say “Did you switch your phone off?”

第一个你可以说“你关机了吗？” 。

Second, or simply you can ask “Did you switch it off?”.

第二种或者简单点，你可以问“你关机了吗？”。

Last one, for example, I can say “Did you switch off your phone?”.

最后一点，例如，我可以说“你关机了吗？”。

4. can’t hear a thing   什么都听不到

Okay, we have some examples for this phrase, so let’s listen.

好的，我们有一些这个短语的例子，让我们来听听。 

Example 1（例1）：

What’s going on in there? I don’t know, I can’t hear a thing.

里面发生了什么？我不知道，我什么都听不见。

Example 2（例2）: 

What? I’m sorry, this music is too loud, I can’t hear a thing.
什么？对不起，这音乐太吵了，我什么都听不见。  

So, that’s like saying “I can’t hear”.

所以，这就像说“我听不见”。

Exactly. I can’t hear anything.

没错。我什么都听不到。

It’s too loud.

太吵了。

5. Do you mind...? 你介意......吗？

例如：

Oh, I forgot my wallet. Do you mind paying for dinner?

噢，我忘了带钱包。你介意付下晚餐的钱吗？
