肇事逃逸案件 陈荣生 译
（画作欣赏——杨争庆画/湛江） 一位非常成功的律师把他那辆崭新的雷克萨斯停在办公室前面，准备向同事们炫耀一番。 在他下车之时，一辆卡车刚好经过，因靠得太近，把他的车司机侧的车门完全撞掉了。律师立即抓起手机，拨打911，几分钟之后，一位警察开车过来了。 警察还未询问，律师就已经歇斯底里地尖叫起来。他的雷克萨斯是在这之前的一天才买的，现在被彻底毁了，无论汽修厂怎样修理，都不可能回复原状了。 律师终于从咆哮和胡言乱语中缓过神来，这时，警察才厌恶和怀疑地摇摇头。 他说：“我无法相信你们这些律师如此地物质至上。你如此专注于你的财产，竟然无视其他任何东西了。” “你怎么能说这种话？”律师问。 警察答：“难道你不知道你的左臂从肘部以下都没有了吗？它肯定是在卡车撞到你的时候被撞掉的。” “啊！”律师尖叫道。“我的劳力士！” （作者佚名，译自《幽默一天》） 早安！开心一刻，快乐一天，开心一天是一天，开心就好！为了让更多人开心，敬请传阅！ 原文如下，若有问题，可留言，我将尽量回答。 The Hit and Run Case A very successful lawyer parked his brand-new Lexus in front of his office, ready to show it off to his colleagues. As he got out, a truck passed too close and completely tore the door off of the driver's side. The counselor immediately grabbed his cell phone, dialed 911, and within minutes a policeman pulled up. Before the officer had a chance to ask any questions, the lawyer started screaming hysterically. His Lexus, which he had just picked up the day before, was now completely ruined and would never be the same, no matter what the body shop did to it. When the lawyer finally wound down from his ranting and raving, the officer shook his head in disgust and disbelief. "I can't believe how materialistic you lawyers are," he said. "You are so focused on your possessions that you don't notice anything else." "How can you say such a thing?" asked the lawyer. The cop replied, "Don't you know that your left arm is missing from the elbow down? It must have been torn off when the truck hit you." "Ahhh!" screamed the lawyer. "Where's my Rolex!" |
