Located in Nashville, Tennessee, UnitedStates,TennesseeFarmhouse by Meyer DavisStudio was designed as a modern interpretationof a hunting lodge. After doing several research studies on iconic modernistresidences, the architects decided on a minimalist shape that is well connectedto the Tennessee landscape: “Sitting on a grass plinth, the house acts as asimple geometric representation of the natural topography; it is essentially aglass box, taking advantage of all available views. Spatial playfulness betweenthe interior and exterior, combined with exquisite detail of materials is whatmakes this home special.” Philip Johnson’s Glass House and Richard Neutra’sKaufmann House were the main projects that inspired this nature retreat.
