We are at Downpatrick Head, Ireland: what you see is known as Dun Briste, basically a piece of cliff in the middle of the sea. But look at it carefully: the rocks are 'recorders' of events that happen in the past, and all this information remains saved in the geological layers and millions of years elapse between layers. Basically an encyclopedia of our Earth.
