As usual, it was occupied when he got there: he could hear Bob Smith from the rooms below, splashing in the bath and singing in a loud and not displeasing voice. He only had to wait a couple of minutes, and then Bob turned out smiling at him and disappeared down the stairs, whistling cheeringly as he went. I．什么是短语动词？ 1． 短语动词常常是两个词（一个动词+一个副词性小词）构成的动词wake up, get up, turn out等。 2． 同一个动词后面可以有不同的副词性小词，构成不同意义的词。 He turned on the radio. Bob turned out smiling. 3．短语动词用法普遍，尤其在非正式语言中。 我们可以说He awoke late the following morning.但这太正式了，我们通常说： He woke up late the following morning 小练习1： 找出下文中的五个短语动词： I sat down , had breakfast, washed up and set off for work.
