Join這個字看似簡單,很多人只要想到「參加」,就脫口而出,像join a party、join an exam。 (X)I will join a party next Saturday. He joined the party in 1999. (X)I will join an exam tomorrow. (不好)I will join a conference in London next week. You can start the meeting without me. I may join in later. How do I join a Zoom meeting? (不好)Will you join our dinner? Would you like to join us? Join the queue 請排隊 If you're buying tickets, please join the queue. Queue是排隊的隊伍,join the queue,就成為排隊成員之一,意思就是stand at the end of it,請往後面排。 2. Join the club! If you're confused, join the club! A: 'I've got no money till the end of this week.'
