Svetlana Cameron is a contemporary British artist specializing in traditional portraiture in the style of Classical Realism. Recognized internationally for her own unique modern interpretation of the Renaissance painting techniques, Cameron is best known for detailed oil portraits of adults in ceremonial wear, as well as delicate pastel portraits of children. Her works often feature sitters in ethnic costumes and other types of embellished clothes which add visual interest and layers of meaning to her portraits.
Svetlana Cameron works by commission, creating portraits for institutions and discerning private clients with established portraiture traditions. The official President's and Speakers' portraits she created for the Parliament of the Isle of Man are now part of the UK national collection of oil paintings. Her works are featured on such prestigious online portals as ART UK and the ARC Museum of Realist Art in the USA. Portraits created by Svetlana Cameron hang in the Royal Regiment of Artillery, collections of the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church, and numerous private collections in England, Scotland, Isle of Man, France, Switzerland, Malta, Singapore. Svetlana Cameron divides her time between London and her countryside family home in East Sussex, where she maintains a large art studio. A sought-after portrait painter, she travels across the UK and internationally to participate in art exhibitions and meet with her sitters.
