This document is described on a replacement procedure of the oil pump, for MITSUBISHI DECK CRANE.
1. Location of the oil pump
The oil pump of our deck crane is provided in the crane post. (hatched with light blue)

2. Preparation

3. Working procedure
(1) Rest of the jib
Set the reach of the crane to the rest.
Next, lower the falling block until on the deck.

Be sure to rest the jib first of all.

(2) Stop of the electric motor
Stop the electric motor and turn off the breaker
on the control panel.
After that, carry out “tag-out” for other crews
not to start the crane.

(3) Shutting the valves
Take off the mechanical lock part at the filter.
Shut butterfly valves and stop valve.

(4) Taking off the ladder
Take off the ladder to take out the motor.

Be sure to close the opening for fall prevention.

(5) Placing a oil container
Place a ⑧oil container to receive working oil
from each pipes before taking off them.

(6) Taking off the pipe
Take off the bolt for pipe, and drain the all
working oil from the pipe.

Working oil volume : about 40Lit
Next, move the pipe out of the way.
CAUTION
!
Attach a cover to flange surface.
Pay attention not to lose O-rings.

(7) Taking off the pressure control valve
Take off the rubber hoses of pressure control
valve.(2 points)
Take off the pressure control valve.
Working oil volume : about 5Lit

!
Attach a cover to flange surface.
Pay attention not to lose O-rings.

(8) Taking off the relief valve and the above
pipe
Take off the pipes connected to the relief valve
and the above pipe.
Next, move the pipes out of the way.
(Only oil pump side)
Take off the relief valve.
Working oil volume : about 15Lit
CAUTION
!
Attach a cover to flange surface.
Pay attention not to lose O-rings.

(9) Attaching the chain block to the stage
behind the operator’s cabin

Attach the ②wire rope and ③chain block around
the ladder as shown in the right picture.
Cover the stage with ⑥cover not to be scratched.

the line filter as shown in the right picture.
Cover the stage with ⑥cover not to be scratched.

(10) Preparation to suspend the oil pump
Wind the ①wire rope to the bolt part of oil pump,
and hook that on the chain block?.
CAUTION
!
Be sure to fix the wire rope around the bolt part.

(11) Taking off the bolts for oil pump
Take off the bolts for oil pump.

(12) Lowering the oil pump
Lower the oil pump by 20mm.
Put the wooden cover under the oil pump to hold
its position at that height.
CAUTION
!
If the oil pump is lowered too much, the coupling
might come off and the oil pump might fall down.

(13) Attaching the shackles
Attach the ④shackles at the bolt holes of oil
pump.(4 points)

(14) Preparation to suspend the oil pump
Attach the ①wire rope to ④shackles, and hang
it on the chain block? and ?.

(15) Taking out the oil pump
Take out the oil pump by using the chain blocks
keeping the balance.(direction an arrow)

(16) Carrying a new oil pump into the post
Attach the ④chain block to a new oil pump, and
carry the oil pump to the installation point by
using the chain block?,?.
Install the coupling to the oil pump shaft, and
set the spider as shown in the right picture.
After that, hoist the oil pump by the chain blocks
until both couplings of the electric motor and
the oil pump are engaged each other.(about 20mm)
CAUTION
!
Be sure to install the spider before installing.
Put the wooden cover under the oil pump to hold
its position at that height.

(17) Hanging the oil pump
Take off the ④shackles, and wind the ①wire rope
to the oil pump.
Hoist the oil pump by using the chain block?
to the height at which the bolts can be installed.
CAUTION
!
Be sure to fix the wire rope around the bolt part.

(18) Installation the bolts of oil pump
Tighten the bolts of the oil pump.

(19) Reinstalling the pipes and valves
Install the pipes and valves around the oil pump.
(20) Attaching the ladder
Attach the ladder.

(21) Opening the valves
Open butterfly valves and stop valve.

CAUTION
!
Make sure to open these valves fully.
If these valves remain closed or opened
insufficiently, the hydraulic device will burst
at the start of the main motor.

(22) Filling the tank
Fill the tank with new ⑨working oil.
Same brand and viscosity described on the manual
must be used.(ISO VG 68)
(23) Vent the air
Turn on the breaker on the control panel and take
off the caution tag.
Carry out a gradual start of the main motor
(inching operation) and vent the air in the
hydraulic device.
(24) Painting
Carry out the touch up paint at this time.
