He was curious about Thompson’s behaviour and wondered if he had misjudged him the day before. To find out what was going on, David chose to follow Thompson in silence. After an hour or so, David followed Thompson to the old house. He saw Thompson placing the tiles he had picked up on the dilapidated（破旧的roof. David felt sorry for Thompson and realized that he had misunderstood him.
